Question Anyone know where i can find a 10 Second subaru impreza wrx sti??

All i find is like 13.65 second for 1/4 mile times. I never find anything under 11 seconds to compare it with like say the supra or whatever. I dunno maybe the sti cant even get under 11 seconds or can it. So if anybody could please post links of sum videos or articles on a hella fast wrx?? Thanks

Or this one too, 9.44 seconds at 148 mph, and the car next to her is even fastar. I think it did an 8.88 second run recently.

you guys dont get what im saying..... Like all i see are supras with 800hp and their engines full of mods, i never see subaru impreza wrx with this kind of power... Unless its like http://esxmotorsports.com/ this place where they are sponsord and have the money. I always see supras which i bet arent sponsored but get lots of hp out their motors going 10 1/4 mile how come not WRX. Is it cause it cost a lot for the subaru to get modded out like that and for the toyota supra its cheap???

1) the supra has 6 cylinders
2) its been around for a much longer time than the wrx has been in america.

the stock EJ205 isn't a power house motor.
the JDM EJ207 is a much better motor and i think americans are just starting to tap the power of these things.
the USMD STi EJ257 seems to be where the big numbers are going to come from. so far there have been a number of >400whp cars, some on pump gas. they've also run sub 12 second 1/4 miles. sure its not 10 seconds yet but i wouldn't be surprised to see some by the end of the year.

give it time. unless you are just a troll to stir the ish.

Not that Off-road racing is exclusively the domain of Subaru, Mitsu, Citroen, Ford...

But why don't you see more Supra's in the WRC?

Was it because it wasn't what they were designed for?

I did see an awesome pic of a Supra participating in one of those RallyX's that they have in Cincinnatti, though.

I thoroughly enjoy drag racing my WRX WAGON, but I have no illusions of beating any powerful engines like a well prepared LS1, Supra, or Mitsu, iron block cars. At least not without being financially able to replace expensive axles, transmissions, heads, pistons...

There's a guy at Hawaii Raceway Park who has an ugly jalopy GSX that he bought for $1k and spent like $2k to improve it for drag racing. He's easily in the low/mid 12's.

Woah thats a heck of a deal. But yeah i get what your saying MIKE wrx its true how the wrx hasnt been here in america for as long as the supras. Sorry for me getting all freaky. But those website i showed you, they have this package for 500 hp for 25,000 i think thats a lot. But couldn't i just go searching finding these parts that they say would make your car 500hp as a 10 second car. Couldn't i go find them my self separtely if i have to for cheaper than 25,000. Just like Gpatmac said about, the hawaiian that baught his car for 1 grand and spent 2 grand on it???

anyways thanks for the advice

You don't build 10 sec. 800hp toyo's on the cheap... I would have to agree that it's an apples to oranges deal as well. " why don't I see many supra's at the Rocktoberfest 4x4 events?" You'll see my Jeep Rubicon, but it's not quite a 10 second car

I bet if you dump a ton on NOx on a STI you'll get a sub 10 sec. run....once

Part of the reason that you do not see such fast 1/4mi Subarus is that it isn't the Subaru's forte. Their strengths come from being able to do a lot of things well, not just specialize in one particular thing.
Supra: High-speed touring car (a bit heavy.) RWD. Gobs of power, sick potential
STi: AWD turbo saloon (not nearly as heavy.) AWD. Plenty of power, some potential

What makes the WRXs and STis so capable is that they are great daily driver cars right out of the box; great handling, great utility, 4 doors, and fun to boot. Take it offroad to go camping, then go ripping through some twisties. Would you want to take a Supra through the woods to go camping? Not likely.

None of the Subarus are particularly fast, but can be made notably quicker within reason. Any seriously substantial power increases unfortunately cost plenty of money due to what you start with. Every car manufacturer has to build vehicles based on compromises; add more capability in one category and take it away in another. Especially when taking price into consideration!

The answer to nearly everything is "it depends." Subarus are typically more of the "Jack of all trades, master of none" type of vehicle. They just happened to have brought one that's a bit faster than usual over finally. It's just not a great platform to turn into a 1/4mi monster is all.
