Talking Wiring Harness for Lights?

OK, all this talk about using relay kits for headlights over 55/60Watts has me wondering, which brand of kit are ya'll using and where do you get it? Also the stock H4 plugs have rubber boots around them that match the rubber boot around the headlight assembly. I assume the new H4 plugs that come w/ relay kits do not. Does this matter? Or is it better to leave the rubber boots off anyhow since they could melt?

I still think the stock 15 Amp X2 fuses & relays should be ok, but it never hurts to be safe.

BTW, I researched a company called "Painless Wiring" that makes an H4 conversion harness that people seem to like. Anyone use this? $70 from Summit Racing.

Question

I've also been curious about the fitment of the rubber boots on aftermarket wiring harnesses. Can anyone chip in on how they dealt with this?

You can still put the rubber shroud on the back of the lamp housing. If you're talking about the rubber hood over the plug, I don't think you need it. If you must have it, you could slit the neck and pull it off the stock harness, then put it back around the new plug and put a couple of wraps of tape around the neck.
