Default Preparations for ej25 bolt-on

I took my 98 Legacy 25GT into the shop today for overheating problems (99% sure from a blown head gasket). Of course it will need the engine pulled to replace the gasket, and down the road i might want to turbo the engine, SO, the question is, besides o-ringing the gaskets, what other preparations should be done. The engine has 130,000 miles on it, so I need to be careful through some prevention. A freind of mine said piston rings should be swapped...

Thanks

He said down the road... I'd hate to see how the STi shotblock runs while NA...
As for block prep, unless you want to run more than 10psi, you don't really need to do anything to a 98-99 RS shortblock. I've run the last 40,000 miles turboed at 7-8psi without problems. Stock block and heads. Push more boost or run a lot at or over 6000 rpm.. Well plan on something breaking then.

Damn I would... but funds would be kinda hard to comeby.... This is more of a prep thing for a bolt-on.... So O-ringed head gaskets should be good enough?
