Post 22B vents on 88 GL-10

Well here are two pics of the 22B replicas I got from Teagues.

Any thoughts that would make them sit better?
What about the gap on the outside edge that I can't seem to get rid of?

Yes I realise my car is Tacky/ricey as hell but its cheaper to slap yellow spray paint on it than to repaint it with real paint, or have the hood rust off.

They are in the garage somewhere, with the bumper and turn signals.

They are off while I monkey with the motor and other stuff. It takes maybe 30 minutes to put the whole front end back on now that I have had a little practice.

The problem is that a 22B has a recessed lip where the vent attaches. I'd imagine a competent body shop guy could recess the lip on your hood and make them fit flush.

Any major auto parts catalog will sell tools to recess a panel. I don't remember what they're called but they look similiar to a set of vice grips with different lips welded on. Just by squeezing the vice grip on the metal it recesses it to a certain height, depending on what lip height you have in the vice grip. I think that would be your best bet...
