Default How to verify knock ?

I'm using UTEC 4.2 and stock JDM ECU. With 98 RON fuel and WI I'm getting knock ( from CEL ) around 4-5K rpm with 23 deg timing. The engine sounds OK and I use DD to check on advance multiplier, no change, the stock ECU didn't detect any knock. If I am going to trust the stock ECU's sensing on knock, I will run timing until I see a retard in advance multiplier, then drop UTEC's sensitivity. Or should I get a knock link ? I think knock link has sensitivity adjustment too, it might lead me back to square one like UTEC. Give me some idea please.

it takes quite a bit of knock to cause the IAM to go down. You should log knock correction... where it gets lower is where the ECU has detected knock.
