Default custom serial port for utec? has anybody done this?

Well, when it comes to the mindless monkey doodads.. i get pretty lazy, e.g. laundry or something like that.

I've witness all my friends constantly pulling up the carpet in order to tune their utec. Has anybody just used a serial cable, ran it through the centerl console and made a dummy panel with a port there? that way the kick panel will always be there and all you have to do is plug in your laptop? Was I was thinking, remove the two din.. sheet metal, egt gauge, serial port, and move my radio to the three gauge pocket... thoughts?

My serial runs under the center console and comes out near the passenger seat, and the end just sits in the backseat footwell. Easy access.

I do the same. I just curl it forward into the front seat when I use it.

I'll have to take a picture of my current tuna install; but basically most of my customers just keep the cables in the glove box, or tucked into the center console (on the side.
