Strange Reoccurring dream last night.....(no cliff notes)

Last night I had a dream that has a reoccurring theme.

My wife and I, and some other couples, were camping out at the farm where I was raised. Everything was normal until a few hours after dusk. Sounds of turbine engines could be heard across the field and darts of light were going through the tree line.

Then we all stood in amazement as a stealth fight type of aircraft flew overhead hugging the tree line and then disappearing off in the distance. This happened for a while and we were all trying to figure out what was going on. Then the aircraft would make another pass and we could see it joining formation with 3 other planes as it curved off in the horizon. This activity increase with each pass of the aircraft.

By this time we aren't sure what is going on so we put out the fire and keep watch on the road and the horizon.

The aircraft make another pass, joins formation with several other B2 bomber looking aircraft and then head West while gaining altitude. All is quiet for a long time. Just as we think that it is over and that we just witnesses some sort of military exercise we look into the western horizon.

We see a wave of lights cutting across the sky. We watched as other aircraft joined the formation. There is literally thousands of aircraft in the sky now. Then we see what looks like flares being deployed from the tails of the bombers. The only thing is that after 10 or so seconds of being deployed, they burst into a cloud of smoke.

We realize at this time that there is a cloud of something coming down across the countryside. We all start running for shelter in the barn that we have. I'm telling everyone to tear off cigarette filters and stuff them in their nose and to take urine-soaked terry cloths and make a mask in case this is a biological attack. Once we get the women safe and hid, 2 other guys and I decide to go to the house and get supplies for survival.

While at the house getting duffel bags, food, guns and ammo, and whatever we can get our hands on, the phone rings. I pick it up and it is my dad on the phone. He tells me that he doesn't know what's going on, but there are allot of people being killed. We both exchange "I love you's" as if we will never see each other again and decide on a meeting place if we escape the coming invasion.

Then the 2 guys and I pack up the stuff and are heading back to the barn when we see a row of headlights coming down the road. We dive into a ditch just as a convoy of military urban assault vehicles pass by.

That is when I woke up. Strange eh?!?!?! The reoccurring portion of the dream is that it is always at the farm, there is always some sort of invasion, and I have to say goodbye to loved ones. Sometimes it's military and sometimes it's an intergalactic invasion. I've been having these dreams for about 4 years now.

Well, that's quite crazy...

The variance in invaders might mean that the impending doom applies to something other than national/worldwide security. Maybe you feel somewhere inside that a catastrophic event could change your life to such a degree that you'll lose ties with all those close to you.
That event could be career, health, financial, a geographic shift or those things applied to someone close.

The ultimate strength of the invasion could mean that you view this change as something entirely outside your control.
Maybe the gradual buildup means this is something you'll see coming beforehand, yet still be powerless to prevent.

The farm could represent your "safe place". That is, you feel whenever this event occurs, you'll have to prepare and retreat to someplace/thing familiar and known.
Someplace from childhood.

The friends helping you might imply your friends/family are a source of support you'll rely on in this time much like the supplies and piss rag. (hehe)

Of course, you of all people would shore up the women and children first

Saying goodbye to the loved ones could be key as well. Maybe that is a fear in itself.
Something permanent, extreme and unstoppable that isn't what you want to do.
How you cope with and react to that makes up the rest...

hmmm... Make any sense?
I've had similar dreams all my life. It usually starts with seeing missile trails across the sky.
Other than that, all the elements fit.
