Default Live in pa got a speeding ticket in MD

So on our way back from ocean city i got a speeding ticket on 68 ..74 in a 65. The cop nailed my buddy in his truck and didn't even see me till i was sitting on the side of the road 100yards behind him. He told me to pull up to his car. Gave us both the same fine .The other truck that pulled over he let go. Now it's a $65 ticket which i have no problem paying. I just want to know if their are any points with a 9 mph over speeding ticket that might transfer to PA. If they do transfer to PA i'm going to fight the ticket .

I don't think that points transfer from state to state.

But, if the cop did not pull you over, and you just stopped to wait for your buddy, you should fight it. Even if you were speeding - if the cop did not his gun on you, he would not know.

Now, if the cop flagged you down too when he pulled over your friend, thats a different issue.

74 in a 65 sounds like he might have tagged you going faster, but reduced the speed on the ticket at the car. A lot of people won't fight over a ticket <10 mph over. Are you sure he did not flag you down?

OC to Pittsburg is a bit of a drive...

The hell they don't tranfer!...But it varies state to state.....MD AND FL will tranfer back and forth but DE and Fl did not......fight every ticket that you ever get! Usually you will just have to pay the fine but not get the points....

i talked to my state trooper friend..and he said in va, going over the speed is 3 point deduction from 1-9 mph over the speed limit. He also said call the Penn. Police and see if it transfers, but he dosnt think the points will transfer.

Not true - I live Pittsburgh - some states will not send the your home state the nasty gram if you pay the fine - I got pulled over and ticketed in Ohio, paid the fine and it never showed on my record. I'm not sure about Maryland, but the information should be available to you either on PennDot's website or via a google search.

He didn't flag me down at all i pulled over because i was behind my buddy that got pulled over...now at first it was a 83 in a 65 ..He dropped it to 74 ..but in IRL we were over 95 when my buddy got nailed..So i guess i'll call the PA state cops to find out whats up with the points thing.. worst case i take a day off of work to drive back to MD ...The cop asked my buddy if he knew that a "grey" subaru was following him and my friend say yes. so we will see what happens
