Currently this useless waste of moolah displays only boost temperatures, engine speeds and exhaust gas temperatures, of which only one of those 'gauges' are not normally found in your average car.
Id like to know what cars this guy buys ...

Guys it looks like the DTEC is starting to get noticed. I did an interview with www.IGN.com this afternoon. They love the idea and will be doing a preliminary story on their website sometime soon with a follow up full review as soon as I could send them one.

You have to understand. The guys at TXS USA are all hardcore gamers. We have xbox based geek nights on a pretty regular basis. When the editor from IGN called me today he said “are you familiar with IGN?” My reply was “Ya, I’ve heard of you.” When I told him we were all game geeks he understood.

Our website is going crazy today!

If you guys happen to come across discussions about this product would you mind helping get some clear information out? This product is universal. It does not require a UTEC or any other TurboXS product to function (short of our sensor kits). It should be out sometime very soon (think September with a few going out early) and will be very attractively priced. There is a substantial upgrade path for this product once you have the basic gauge pack although I don’t want to say too much more for a few more days.

By the way, we did some Google searching on this thing late last week when the website was posted. There was absolutely nothing on Google regarding this. As of a few hours ago, already 48 websites had posted comments that would show up in a Google search on sites from all around the world. The drums are beating…

Now if I can just convince the IGN guys to put us in contact with bungie. I figure we should be able to trade a few DTECs for early copies of Halo2.

i want to see a 2-3 gameboy pod for the clock area.
held in place by clips of course, so they can be easily removed for parking lot gaming

Hey I’ll get you into the WOW beta as soon as I get my Halo2 copy.

The article is up on ign now. The interview was a little informal and there was a lot of disjointed thinking out loud type stuff in it, but I think the main message got across.

The editor did choose to focus on some strange things though. He really is hype about the off chance that we could make it work with a DS. I really like the DS, but don’t know what’s involved in making this thing work for it. I am sure we’ll look into it and it might be an easy transition, but let’s get the standard gameboy version to market first.

He also asked about us making this as a display for other ECUs. My comment was that we’d have to figure out how those ECUs were communicating with their tuning modules currently and that in the end it would be much better for us to just sell the perspective customer a gameboy based fuel computer. That’s the current thinking anyway…

In any case the Dtec seems to be getting a little notice.

Wow, I can't belive how much misinformation is there is on that site. Just because you play GT3 doesn't mean you know jack squat about cars . The more I learn about cars, the less I want to discuss the topic with the average person (the so called magazine racers) Most often their theories are so out of whack that its not even worth it to try and correct them.

Back on to subject, I bought a GBA a few months back just for this. I'm hoping that it will let you tune timing as well as boost and fuel. My laptop is just too dam big and heavy to bring with me for tuning all the time.... why I ever chose to buy a laptop with a 17" wide screen... stupid stupid stupid

I just bought a Dell 600m and I want to nominate it as the best possible mobile tuning laptop you can buy. It is one of few laptops anymore that actually has a Serial Port (for DeltaDash, UTEC, TunerPro, etc), and it's a 14.1" screen, centrino so it lasts 4 hours on the main battery and another 3 hours on the optional Aux battery, weighs only 5lbs, and it compact.

ive been using the 600m to tune my STi for months now. yes, it is nice . ill still be looking into getting the dtec though, since i can just shove the gba in my glovebox and not worry about it.

after a year, your battery wont last 4hrs anymore. mine will only last (AT MOST) 2.5hrs.

This is a bit OT, but when is Halo 2 coming out anyway? It was supposed to come out last winter originally, but I stopped following the date after they moved it again. I
