Thumbs up Taking my car to Griffin next week...

...for my suspension installand alignment. V5 struts with the Whiteline Selects springs. Did not have all the parts in time for the last install fest and it will be nice to have it done professionally. Can't wait. I asked James Chin about how he would be doing the install and he mentioned he would be cutting the brake line/strut tab and folding it back rather than doing the complete brake bleed. This man knows the little tricks! I have a good feeling about them. Its nice to know there is someone qualified up here in the city to do tuning work.

No, they are still in Berkley. I guess that's technically not in the city. its just alot closer than Santa Cruz or Bozz. I can actually still get there relatively quick.

That is a standard way of doing suspension... I am not suprised that anyone would know that trick. I have spoken with griffen many times, and I have various reservations using their services. They were, however, one of the only shops willing to drill my egt probe for me. Everyone else wanted to remove the exhaust manifold, they were willing to take the risk for 80 or some odd bucks. Be carefull dealing with them, they are very oppinionated... and I would consider spending some extra bucks and going to Conversion Techniques in Oakland by the airport for some stuff, and Auto Options (by griffen) for any alignment/tire autocrosser type needs.

Just my thoughts.

Cutting the brake tab is standard? This is my first aftermarket suspension swap and it would seem to me that cutting the tab would theoretically be the half-ass way to do it. Quicker and all but... I dunno, I'l give them a try and if they really turn out bad then they'll get a nasty write up here and none of my future business. Thanks for the tip though.

standard... and on the 2002 wrx its not needed as the brake line is made to come away from the strut. There is really no harm in doing it... as the tab can be bent back into place, the clip that keeps it from fumbling around will hold it just as secure.
