Default Accessport and 2005 WRX question / rant

Well, heres the background to this:
When I went to order my Accessport, I specifically asked if there was one available for a 2005 WRX. I was told yes, and that all I needed to do was specify in the comments that I had a 2005 and not a 2004. After doing so I called back a few weeks later after reading somethings about 2005 accessports just to confirm that they actually were going to be available. I was assured that they were going to be available and that mine should ship in 6-8 weeks... everything was peachy.

Last week I received a call from Cobb saying that they were having trouble charging my credit card, so I gave him a different one (sidestory: after calling the CC company come to find out cobb was entering in the wrong experation date) and asked him how the order was coming. He said that he was getting ready to ship out the unit that day and I asked if it was indeed for a 2005 wrx and he stated yes.

This week rolls around and I come into some financial problems thus causing me to nearly have to clean out my bank account to pay for something and I wouldnt be able to get the money back in until next week. Since the card I gave them was a debit card, I wanted to make sure that I would have atleast that amount of funds in there so I wouldn't have an overdrawl on my account. So again I called Cobb today to find out if they had charged my card yet and if so for how much (shipping and all that jazz). They got my name and I was told that my order was not even ready to ship out yet and that it wouldn't be shipping for 1-2 weeks... I explained what happened last week and had him verify the card he had on the account... it was my old credit card.. not the new debit card that I had him put on it. So now I start to wonder a bit and ask him to verify that I was still in the queue for a 2005 accessport.... this is where it hits the fan.... He tells me that they don't even have an accessport out for the 2005 WRX and that he could give me no gurantee as to if it would work. He said it would most likely download the map (99% sure) but he wasn't sure if it would throw any CEL's though. He also said that if I were to take it, and it didn't work I would have to eat the shipping cost and the restocking fee if I returned it...

In short, I guess this is sort of a rant / question... From the begining I've been told that there was a 2005 accessport, but now after having some of my money already taken, and waiting for a month or so... I'm told there isn't.
Does anyone have any inside knowledge as to if there is one available or not?
or if a 2004 one will work on a 2005?

Sorry for the length of this post... its a combination of being bored at work and being a little frustated..

thanks in advance
-Derek

I was told by Cobb, and Chris here at SoD that the 2004 will NOT work in the 2005 Impreza.

Is anyone actually running a 2004 A/P in their 2005 Impreza??

Access port for MY04 works fine for MY05. I used "alternate" instructions for initilization - had to do with not turing ignition back off and on as accessport instructs -- just leave ignition on -- worked great first time. Very happy!
