Impreza WRX 2004 WRX ECU Reflashing/Remapping: HELP PLEASE!!!

Hey....i Just Got A Wrx A Couple Months Ago. Its Finally About Broken In Now. I Added A Bov, Panel Filter, Stupid **** Like That No Major Upgrades. Soon, I Will Throw In A Catback, Cai, Etc...at The Moment, I Keep Hearing About Reflashing/remapping My Oem Ecu. I Guess It Reprograms It To Adjust To My Aftermarket Items. If I Disconnect The Neg. Terminal Of The Battery For An Hour, Will That Reset It For Me? Will This Really Help The Ecu With Performance Changes For The Bov, Or Will I Have To Do Something Else With The Stock Ecu? Will There Be Any Damages To The Car? I'm New With Wrx's And I'm Learning. I Appreciate Your Help. Thanks!!!
