Certain gears. You should be able to hit max boost in 3rd and 4th gears. You won't hit it in 1st or 2nd because the ECU doesn't think the car is moving fast enough to get enough air flowing through the intercooler. And boost will usually taper off towards redline. I just flashed to the stage 2 93 octane map, and I'm seeing right at 16psi in 4th gear.

you'll find the answer in this thread:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...t=target+boost

the target is the same in all gears. you won't see it in the first two because the car isn't under load long enough. i only see 12.5psi in first, but i see 16 around 3k in 3rd and up according to my ap.

I see a hair under 16 psi in 3-5 if I go WOT from less than 4000 rpm. You maynot always see full boost when driving like a drag race because the rpms don't drop much and the engine sees less load in the next gear. For example, when shifting from second to third your rpm may only drop to 4500-5000 rpm, so you may not see full boost in third on level ground (or in warm weather).

When going uphill, you can probably hit full boost in 2-5.

Funny you said that about going up hill, my 1988 toyota supra would only make 8 or so psi in second gear on a flat surface but it could make 10-11 psi going uphill that always puzzled me

Hotter temps= less dense intake charge= more difficulty getting to target boost.

In 4th and 5th gear, I've been hitting 17p.s.i. since I installed my
Stromung 3-inch cat-back.

It's been three weeks, the ecu should've learned by now.

How does it compare when you measure boost with the AccessPort? I've seen boost gauges differ from MAP by as much as 2 psi depending on where they're tapped. My Trust gauge is roughly 1psi low using MAP as my reference.

what is target boost at 7,000' elevation????because i only see low 13s....and at ~5,000' elevation no more that 14.1 psi...all from the AP (funny enough the OEM gauge is dead on)
