Talking Wife wins tickets over radio with car knowledge

So my wife has an uncanny ability to call into radio stations and get through.
She's won things on many occasions.

A few days ago she called a local country station that was giving away tix to a singer who was coming to town. She gets through, and after the call, she calls me to tell me to quickly turn the radio on. (With the delay, and all...)

She was the second caller, the first one got it wrong...

DJ: "Alright, hello, so where would you find a bonnet and a boot?"
Caller 1: "On a picnic basket?"
DJ: "Well maybe, but that's not what we're looking for. Thanks for calling! Next caller, what's your name?"

Christine: "Christine! How are you?"
DJ: "Great. So, Christine, where would you find a bonnet and a boot?"
Christine: "On a car in Europe."
Me: (At home throwing hands in the air. )
DJ: (Celebratory music, cheering with his assistant DJ.) "On a car in Europe! Yes! How'd you know that?"
Christine: "Well, my husband is a car nut, so I guess..."
DJ: "Does he own a European car?"
Me: ("Oh please don't say yes, I know you know this...")
Christine: "European? No, but he knows all kinds of stuff."
DJ: "Well, you've won two tickets!"
Christine: "Absolutely smashing!"
DJ: (Laughs with assistant lady.) "Hey can you say that in a British accent?"
Christine: (Pours it on real thick and sexy.) "Aaaabsolutely smashing, I say!"
DJ: "Hey you've got a career in showbiz! Thanks for calling."

Her younger sister was in the living room when we listened in. The "smashing" part we laughed about for probably an hour.

=S2=

ps - Unrelated, she pulls a funny one out of mid-air this morning.
"What can we do for my car with the suspension? It handles like a bowl of oatmeal."

(It's a '95 Legacy LS, stock suspension. I'm probably just going to go with KYB GR2 struts, stock springs, maybe some new OE strut tops. The car's old, they're probably dead. Maybe the springs too, I dunno...)

We're not. It was last weekend, and we had to be out of town, so we gave the tickets to Christine's front desk assistant.

I forget the singer's name....

That was a joke, right?

I thought it was universally understood that Siper2 is a mechanical dope.

Oh well, at least my armchair expertise must've been decent enough!!!

Apparently for long enough to hear the contest.

Right you are. Sad but true, eh?
