Default AccessPort Users: Who has uneven/ oscillating acceleration between 3-4.5K RPM?

http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ulti...=000600#000003

There seems to be a growing pattern here. Are AccessPorts uncovering or causing ECU problems?

I have an 04 but this seems to be happening with other years as well.

Argh!

My car did this stock. It was very annoying. I'm running Stage 1 91 oct and it smoothed it out quiet a bit. The car still slightly does it but it is hardly noticable. So Accessport fixed that problem with my car.

I'm hoping that once I get a TBE and run Stage 2 then the "oscillating" will disappear completely.

It is very frustrating--I want to do whatever I can to fix it. Some people are replacing plugs, fuel filters, examining injectors, blaming engine management.

I drove for several months with the AccessECU (reflashed at COBB, v 1.08) before I got the AccessPort, which was when I reflashed the new version of Stage II, which was fine. It wasn't until after the turbo upgrade and reflashing to Stage 2.5 that I began to notice the hesitation (or string of mini hesitations/oscillations) betw. 2.5-4.5K RPM. Since then I have been in constant communication with Trey through email, sending him datalogs, and none of his revisioned mapping has cleared it up.

1. Does this problem come from the Subaru ECU? Does "turning up the power" bring it out/make it more noticeable? If so is it mechanical in nature? Can it be corrected or compensated for? Has COBB been aware of this and been trying to compensate for its presence all along?

2. Is this a problem created by whatever process Trey employs to reflash the ECU? Could it get worse each time you reflash the ECU? It seems that some have found that once they had the problem and reflashed back to stock, it stayed, and the car did not go back to running the way it originally did prior to reflashing the ECU for the first time.

3. Is this a "difficult to pinpoint" mechanical problem?

4. Could this be a computer virus? It seems that not everybody has it--but those who do certainly share the same symptoms.
