Installed the lighted cigarette lighter.

I installed the ligted cigarette lighter last night. I used the Legacy (prt# 86710AA002) and I just replaced the factory one with the new one. The RS plug is identical but it does not provide the connections to the light. I just cut them from the plug and splice them to the ashtray light.

At night, it looks sooo good, It should be done by everybody. The lower part of the console looks complete.

Now, lets see if I can find out the prt# for the ring around the ignition key.

You have a real cigarette lighter? I got a plastic plug with my car.

Not that I smoke or anything, I even plan on covering up that area sometime soon too. *shrug*

Sounds interesting, but one question begs to be asked: Why??

It sounds a bit ricey, and nobody is going to see it anyway.

The money would probably have bought you the parts for a home-made cold air induction pipe (unless of course if you've already done heaps of mod's so I apologise and stand corrected if this is the case), or in dress-up terms, go towards towards a pair of foglight covers, grill badge, or any number of things that people will actually see. JMHO

One thing you can't call Leo's car is rice... think turbocharged Grasshopper.... these are the only kinds of mods he has left to do! (we all hate you Leo, you know that don't you?) A pic that I stole from his other post....

Great stuff (I did pre-apologise in case he'd already made heaps of mod's). I also posted a response to his cool wheels. They look great as does the car. Turbo eh?? Excellent. Mine came out of the wrapper with a hair dryer. It's called WRX.

No, no hair dryer yet. Got everything waiting for when i get it. I was in the JC Sports GB but bailed cuz of the inconsistencies (sp?)

Almos a WRX! Might take the badge off and put the 2.5RS logo again unless I can get my hands on a Prodrive badge

I have to re-wire it to the radio as the light in the ashtray light does not dim with the dash.

If the person doing this mod does not care, splice it to the ashtray. If you want it to dim, you have to take the radio out and find the illumination wire.
