I will be selling my WRX soon.
I'm the orignal owner of this car and have had it for 16 months with no problems or accidents at all. It is a 2004 WRX Wagon WRB 5 speed with 13k on the clock. this car is stock the only mods on it are tinted windows 35% on the 4 doors and 20% in the wagon area just passed Mass inspection with window tint meter. The car is in excellent condition. I changed the oil to mobil 1 at 1k and changed every 3k after that. I'm selling because I'm buying another house. I'm looking to sell this car pretty fast and will consider all legitimate offers. Kelly blue book on this car is 21k for private party value and 18K for trade in value. Best offer over 18k will take this car. Someone will own this car for the price the dealer would give me on a trade. Cheers, Jim

The car is stock now and when the question was asked about mods it was answered truthfully. If you dont have anything constructive to say dont say it at all. |

When you start a thread that says you gauging interest in a Stock '04 WRX it is implied by stock that it has NEVER been modded.......
and I never have anything constructive to say best of luck |

I respectfully disagree. It's called lying by omission. There are plenty of people who come on NASIOC/NESIC once and a while or maybe even only once who don't know this car's history. Maybe they don't know how to do a search to find out that this car was heavily modified in the past.
To be properly truthful, he should have advertised the car as stock while explaining that the car was formerly a Stage IV car that had been changed back to stock components. If nobody had asked, it would have never come out and if not asked, he never would have mentioned it. In fact, he begs the question by stating that the only mods on the car were tints. Isn't that just a little disingenuous ? Please don't tell me that a stock car and a formerly heavily modded car are the same. They are not and never will be. This car's block and internals were subjected to stress that a stock car would not have experienced. I remember that a certain dealer was subjected to an incredible amount of abuse for posting that he might not tell a buyer that a trade-in had been formerly modified. My 02 for what it is worth. I might agree if he seemed to be intentionally deceitful in the slightest. But he hasnt been. Again, he was 100% honest when asked. I think the main reason he emphasizes stock is so people will know he put it back to stock. If a car was in a fender bender you wouldnt put "been in accident" on the FS sign, but you'd be honest if someone asked you. And this isnt nearly that bad.

Stock to me implies no mods & never been modded. To others, it means no mods right now.
The very fact that "stock" means different things to different people is proof enough that the term's definition is hazy at best. -Brian |

ok this is teh ghey
His car was stage 4 FOR 5 THOUSAND MILES BIG EFFING DEAL Its FINE. I fail to understand why people act like a car that has been modded is automatically junk. My car has been TORTURED for 30k+ miles. Compression tested about a month ago, I dont recal the exact figures, but it was WELL within spec, none of the cyl low. It could be put back to stock tomorrow, and last 200k (if maintained regularly) Jim's car has lead a fairly pampered life. To start isht over semantics is idiocy. He did not at ANY point misrepresent it, he NEVER said it was always stock, lies by omission is a BS bitch whiney claim. Sorry, thats the way I see it. Crapping someones for sale post is even more infantile. Congrats, you crapped his thread, you have made ishtbag status. Keep your effing hole shut if you have nothing to add to the thread. |
