Unhappy worst day ever....the stupidest thing happened this morning, hilarity will ensue

prompted by sharkbaits thread

after a crappy nights sleep and a borked ankle from the skatepark last night...

7:00 AM woke up made the bottles, fed the baby got her dressed and ready for daycare.

8:30 AM girlfriend is leaving for work, takes a response to a joke a little too seriously. I apologize she leaves without a word.

8:45 AM girlfriend calls telling me i ruined her day...yada yada yada. she hates me.

9:30 AM somehow i still haven't been able to get out of the house, and am running late for a 10AM meeting for some consulting work i'll be doing.

9:45 AM drop kaija off for daycare, almost ran out of gas, filled up the tank, head over to the ATM to take out some cash for a cup of coffee.

here's where the most ridiculous thing that has ever happened to me occured.

i pull into the metered spot quickly hop out the car and run to the ATM, i hear a bunch of horn honking behind me. i turn around, look at the space i was parked in.

"where the crap is my car?"

i look further down the street and my car is slowly rolling down main street. i'm thinking is this really happening? **** so i hope the handrail at the ATM, slightly fall and bloodied my elbow run down the street after it luckly traffic there was no turning traffic and traffic was stopped at a red light. it coasts into a nice stop on some ladies bumper. my bumper and her fender mildly scratched up. apparently i left the car in nuetral and forgot the parking brake. we exchange info, because of the ridiculousness of said events i offered to pay for the damages to her car out of pocket, so now i will be unable to visit my grandparents next week in NC. i'm so f'n pissed at myself for this stupied accident plus i got blood all over my favorite t-shirt. i'll laugh eventually.

the gods are pissed at me for some reason.

cliff notes: day starts real crappy, running late for meeting. car left in nuetral rolls down a crowded main street into another car. i'm left with an empty wallet, bloodied elbow, scratched car and hurt pride. ridiculous.

It was all b/c of the remark you made to your GF. She most likely cursed you when she left.

This is the point where I started laughing. Glad your child wasn't in the car, and things turned out pretty good considering all the possible outcomes to this.

WAPCE. Your girlfriend planted the impact vehicle for yours to hit. She gets a cut of the profit.

how much do you guesstimate a scuffed bumper, no bigger then a sheet of 8x12" paper, no dents or anything would cost to get sanded down and painted?

Not to give you a hard time... but 8X12" sheet of paper? 8-1/2" x 11" Letter is so common, how did you come up with that?

P.S. $400 is my guesstimate

You win. Letting your car roll away is way worse that flashing the meter guy. However, I still have to go to the gym tonight, so I could pull out a last minute upset!

At least no one got hurt. Well, other than your ankle becoming more sore. We used to live at a house with a sloped driveway. We also had a truck with a bad ebrake, so my dad would just put a wood block behind it. My mom took the block out and left the truck in neutral one day (I don't know how, she just did). The truck took off rolling down the driveway and crashed into a parked car in the driveway across the street. My sister (6 or 7 then) was in the truck the whole time.
