Default Possibly moving to Denver area

Hey all, just wanted to say hi and ask a few questions. I've lived in VA for the past 6 years and the rest of my life was spent in So. FL. I'm currently up for orders and looking at denver as a possibility. Just wondering what the subaru crowd is like up there. We've got a pretty big gathering in sothern va. Usually get together once a week for install party's and then a few larger meets every couple of months. What are state emission laws up there... do you have state inspections? And how tough are the cops in the area about exhaust's and other mods. Right now i'm currently running the cobb stg 2 catless and catless uppipe. A little loud but not too noticeable compared to most.

Jeff

If you want to get involved in a HUGE group of Rocky Mountain Region guys, check out www.clubwrx.net. You'd easily have 15 replies to this post by now

There's at least one meet every week, a majority of the people are friends off the forum, and there's always something going on. There's an install party this weekend actually.
As for laws: emissions isn't too bad, on a new car you have 4 or 5 years before you have to be inspected. After that, I believe it's once every 2 years. A lot of people put the stock exhaust back on for the inspection, but have total disregard for the environment for the rest of the year.
Come on over and say hey!

The new car 4 year window doesn't apply when you move into Colorado from another state. I know this from personal experience. My 2 year old car had to be tested to get CO plates. Also, you will likely get failed for being catless. You will want to put the original DP back on there to clear your initial emissions. Then you will have 2 years until you have to do it again...

If you need to use a stock DP, just let us know, I have mine that you can use for a little bit to pass. I live with 1/2 mile of an emissions place, so it an easy swap that I have done before.

The Suby crowd here is pretty huge. Not just imprezas either. Boulder is full of falling apart old Subarus owned by ex-hippies and parked next to their new 5 series.
