Post front speaker size upgrade

I am putting in 6.5 mid bass in my doors and making a kickpannel for my 4 inch mid and 1 inch tweet.

My question is will the 6.5 fit? I looked at the opening and it looks like if you take out the old paper speaker and its fitting bracket a 6.5 could fit. I don't have my speakers yet, 5 buisness days. I just want to know what i'm in store for when they do come.

pick up a crutchfield catalog or go to crutchfield.com ...they have speaker sizing guide. If I remember correctly, you can fit a 6.5 inch round that's up to 2.5 inches deep- proxy server at work won't let me go and check or I'd find out for sure for you

The depth is what i have to worry about. I know those magnets are big. i tried crutchfield but couldn't find anything on what acuall will fit (acuall dimentions). Only what size speakers will fig.

I know when I put my Boston Pros in my MY99 OBS I had the window track to deal with. Im sure youll need a spacer to get them to fit. Mine barely fit in my car.

P.S. Dont go by Crutchfield as far as taking it for the truth. Their guides are rough estimates. Still better than nothing though.

The power windows prevent any deep penetration from the magnets so you definetly will want to get a spacer. Go to a local audioshop they should be able to provide you with a set for free or pretty cheap.

I'll most likely need more than just a spacer. I just hope the speakers fit without cutting open the door opening.

These speakers are high power/high dollar speakers.

it all depends on what speakers you get. i got some Pioneer 6.5"s and i needed no spacer. if you get into the high-dollar speakers, high-output stuff, you will probably need a spacer. just need to talk to someone and let them know the speakers you are putting in.
