Default Newest Utec compatable with jdm ver.8 eng?

Hi all, a person from another post said that the newest utec was compatable with my 03 jdm sti version 8 engine/ecm. Can anyone back that claim up? I am under the impression that you have to have the jdm utec for the jdm motor unless you want to hard wire it in.

So my question is this: will the newest utec plug right into my jdm swapped ecm/engine and work properly?
Thanks
Brent

Not to be rude but i told you i ran both on my sti motor and both worked the exact same. I'm just surprised you'd post another thread when a simple search or phone call to txs would've gotten you the answer. (since you don't believe me) Just seems a bit redundant to post another thread when you could've bumped the other one. Yes it will work. I don't know how else to tell you.

I really don't mean to come off as a jerk though. Hopefully it didn't sound like that. But touche nonetheless.

No, my issue like i said in my first post was that he started another thread when he had 3 much simpler options.
1-Search
2-Call txs
3-Bump the old thread (if 10 days is considered old)

Happy you found your ''newest hardware utec''

Wow, uncle scotty still is a ***. Didn't expect much to change there.
Anyway, I like to get a couple of different opions before investing a lot of money. This isn't a 20 doallar part....
Yes, i called txs just to find out the newest version utec WILL through a code from the injectors due to an impedience issue. Thanks for your info soon to be great, but i do like to get a couple of different opions before stepping up with the cash.
U/S too bad the hurricane didn't blow you away. You really must have no life since you continue to belittle me and look at every post i write. Do us all a favore and get lost.

I understand your concern to get the correct part, i am the same way. But I have also told you that it would work, amongst a few others.. We have done it, and ran it for many miles with no probs.. If the injecter cel bothers you dont do it, we mentioned the cels in the other thread. My cel is turned off with the utec anyway so i do not care about them..

I would just find a used utec and grab it, the cel issue is not worth the extra money..

RsFan- We understand we have all spent ALOT of money, but many of us have told him what he needs and it almost seems like he is questioning our knowledge on the subject..

I am questioning your knowledge! If you walked into a dentist office and he just looked into you mouth and said you need to spend X amount of money to get your problem fixed, wouldn't you want a couple of opinons?
That is what i'm doing; getting different opions. If it insults you that i'm not taking your word for it, then don't be. I question everything as there IS a lot of bad knowledge floating around out there. That my friend is how you learn, by questioning.
Yes, i can be very redundant on some things. I'll more than admit to that. I'm not much of a trail blazer when it comes to trying new things; i like to know for sure what i'm getting into.
I would like to get it right the first time around and with as little money invested as possible. Doesn't this sound like anyone else out there?!! I'm pretty new to the utec, so i don't know a lot about it...yet.
So thanks to all that contributed.

I understand but when you posted it the first time Soo2b, Big_adventure, Azscoobie, Myself, and a few other all awnsered it.. Isnt that a few opinions? The same people will answer it here.. If i didnt have first hand experience with it i would not reccomend it..

Like i said i fully understand your concerns, i am the same way, but if you want a different sampling of opinions you should post the question on another board since here the same people will answer it everytime..

I think i'll be learning a lot in the next month about the utec! I know relatively little about it and nothing about tunning it. It's kinda of funny when you call up txs and start asking them about it. They don't even carry any base maps for the jdm stuff even though it is there baby and they sell it overseas. Kinda makes me think strange of them. What do the japanese and aussies do then for maps?

Uncle scotty has had his panties up in a bunch for a while now. I think it's a delayed pms sendrom for him or something...he is seriously jealous of me, too. Kinda one of those "I know it all and i don't care what you think" types.
A real coward by my standards. Anyone can sit behind a keyboard and talk smack. That's is what you are u/s, a cowardly s hit talker. I was hopping that you would've been swept out to sea with that hurricane, but one can only hope.
BTW i have several "Other" cars that would put your's to shame.
