Link works for me..... interesting, seems as though TurboXS is coming out with part monthly . Great tool to have while tuning a car.

It was assumed something like this would come out since they reintroduced the Tuna as the Tuner Pro. Too bad I just bought wideband not too long ago...

So, uh, when is this thing going to interface with the UTEC with an Autotune type of feature?

personally i really like having the detcans, and think it's worth the premium in price.

i've been driving around with a cassette deck adapter plugged in and the knock sensor's output playing on the stereo...

Here's a question for you guys...I just recently ordered a Tuner Pro while they were on sale for 550, but I am trying to save as much money for suspension mods as possible. Is the tuner pro's knock detection worth the extra 70 dollars over the regular tuner?

obviously as my post indicates i believe it is.

plus you get a different display, LED vs LCD.

from the description i am not certain whether it has the additional auxillary inputs--it looks like it does not. the tuner pro on the other hand has 2 each of analog and digital inputs. with a little cobbling those can be very useful (vss, egt, post-ic charge temps, oil temp, pre-ic boost pressure, egbp, etc..), at least to me.

yes, you're right. it does LOOK like an LCD screen though. it also has the LDR port on the front pannel for the sensing of ambient light to set the LED brightness. it COULD be a backlit LCD i suppose but at this point i'll have to agree with what you pointed out the site says.

When I saw the Tuna Pro on sale for that price I bought a second unit. For $70 I think it is worth the added features. Remeber that there are inputs and outputs on the pro that the tuna does not have. If you never use one of those features you are out $70, if you buy the regular tuna and then decide you do want one of those features you are probably out more than $70.

Just my 2 cents.

The bosch sensor responds faster than the VW unit. It is a personal call as to which one you want, both are capable of providing good data to tune with.

Sorry I do not know those off the top of my head. I am sure you can google that information. Nathan posted the expected life of the Bosch over on wrxhackers a while ago.

Actually, now that there are the screws in the sides that hold thie side plates to the extruded main body, I think it would be pretty easy to make up some mounting brackets.

I will play with it in a couple weeks when I get one to see what can be done.

I just mounted my tuna pro. I took the dash clock housing and mounted the tuna in it.
Today the O2 sensor goes in and I start to tune.

No kidding it took ~2hrs just to cut and fit the thing. Then I had to epoxy it into place.
