Default What Fits the Baja Turbo

In my pursuit of modding my 05 Baja Trubo, I've been trying to figure out what works from the STI/WRX worlds... Some things are pretty obvious, like a boost controller or intake; it isn't so clear for other stuff.

For example, I recently bought a Perrin Performance intercooler hose kit and found that only two of the three pipes fit, although Perrin's Web site indicated that it would fit the Baja (actually it won't fit an 05 but apparently it will fit an 04).

I sent off an e-mail to Perrin and they've been helpful letting me know what of their stuff will fit the 05 (and I assume 04). Here's what they told me:

"--WRX intakes
--STI rear sway bars and links, not the WRX.
--WRX front endlinks
--TMIC will work, but you need the y-hose specifically for it and not the one you bought that is for the WRX.
-WRX crank pulley
--STI fuel injectors
--WRX downpipe and uppipe

At this point the catback doesn't work, or at least we haven't tried it.
The FMIC may fit but not for sure, the main problem is the bumper plastic not being opened up enough for the IC to show through.

"I hope that helps with future purchases and questions you might have. There is a dealer local to us, who owns a Baja and has installed these parts and has some experience with that car/truck. Their name is Rallitek performance, and the number is 503-309-8645."

I've bought stuff from Rallitek already and have been pleased about my dealings with them.

What about the Sti turbo? If, of course, you changed to STi up and down pipes? The nitty-gritty of hose and bracket fitment would probably be a headache. STi computer? Fuel injectors would probably have to be done at the same time.

I'm glad they tried the swaybars. The wicked under steer of the Baja bugs me. Worse than an 88 Escort.

I don't know about the STI turbo, but there are several other options as far as I can figure out. AVO makes 300 to 500 HP turbos that will fit the Baja. I don't know about the STI ECU but, you could go with a Unichip or have your ECO reflashed by Vishnu when that is available (supposedly at the end of the month).

I found out the hard way the Perrin rear sway bar does not fit the Baja...

Rallitek says that the IPD will fit, and I'd trust them on that point. They have a Baja and they actually try things on it unlike some vendors. I'm going to give that one a try after I get my dough back for the Perrin.
