I just got my 2005 WRX a week ago and i noticed the acceleration was really jerky and rough, i read up on and people said to put grounding wires on the car. I tried that out and it did absolutely nothing. So i went for plan B and did a ECU reset. I took both battery terminals off and pressed the break down for 15 seconds, let the car sit for 30 minutes than i put the battery cables back on and turned it on and let it idle, when i turned it on i noticed a buzzing noise seemed to come from the engine bay. I turned the car back off and took the grounding wires off. I turned it back on and the noise was still there, when i turned on the headlights it made a clicking noise that seemed to come from the passenger side speaker, i couldn't pin point where the noise was comming from but from outside the car it sounded like it was comming from underneath the car in front of the rear wheels. The car is bone stock, i took off the grounding wire and the noise still remains, does this have anything to do with the ECU reset what could it be ????

Well not sure about the jerky and rough acceleration, maybe some more break in time...? I know my 02 used to have a bit of a "fluttery" accelleration for the frist few 1000 miles but I dont notice it anymore (You should not need to do a ECU reset within the first week of owning your car). But I also have a Cobb reflash and samcos as well as a grounding kit now which prob helped the problem if not fixed it all together. The "clicking" you are hearing will happen every time you turn on the lights... and the buzzing you heard was it only when you go to start the car like for a second sounds as if its comming form the driver side? This is normal too but can't not remember exactly what it is. So I guess what im trying to get at is the noises you have heard are normall
as long as the bussizng is not present while the engine is at idle, and the clicking from the lights is not continueous and only happenes when you turn on/off the lights. The rough accel you should ask the dealer about before trying resets and stuff, but will most likely calm down the more miles you get on it... hope i was of some help. peace |

Thanks the clicking only happens when i turn the lights on and off, the buzzing is constant and sounds like its a noise interference or something. Its hard to pinpoint the buzzing noise but it sounds likes its somewhere in the engine bay and also somewhere under the car in front of the rear tires. Very odd but you know how its hard to find where noises are comming from. The car only has 700 miles on it so maybe the jerky acceleration will smooth out. |
