Unhappy the STI is (dead sorry Diz)

well after 4 years I got the STI V5 in my car and had a couple good weeks, just as I am getting this beast tuned the motor let loose this morning on the way to work.
Sorry diz I will not be able to come to Boulder for rides as I now will begin the quest for a EJ22T for the motor so It looks like next spring untill I get the car together. by the way thanks for helping stephan last week you saved me a bunch of hassals

So back to the drawing board for this project

If you want to go 2.2 cobb sells a good smei closed block or their 2.5 is a little cheaper. I would go with the cobb 2.2 if I had the funds right now but I would stay away from the old ej22t unless you plan to upgrade the rods, pistons and such. And if you plan on doing that you might as well go for the cobb built piece.

well I got under the car this morning and found something verry unusual. when I got the motor I had to replace the oil pan with a new one from Subaru, it had the drain plug already in it and the pan, plug, and seal were painted at the factory, But as I have not driven enough miles to warrent an oil change I havent touched the drain plug, BUT it has an oil leak and the paint has been broken like the plug has been out and no one replaced the seal. the paint on the plug has wrench marks on it and the oil pressure switch has been disconnected. The oil light worked when I have started it earlier this week but on Friday I was in a hurry and I started and went. So I pulled the plug and there was less than a quart in the engine. Now either I used over 4 quarts this week or I have been sabatoged.

Well the motor is coming out and I will decide what to do from here

Man, that is really screwed up. Any ideas on who would sabotage it? Personally I would go with the ej22T block. I run 20 psi from a t3/t04e daily and it's been awesome so far. No problems. And I'm basically untuned right now. 12.44 @ 107. Not bad for an RS.
