Question Help with troubleshooting Bazooka tubes...

Don't know what I did to make this happen but when I went to install my rear strut bar today, I had to relocate my CD changer from the underside of the rear deck (to make room for the strut bar) to a different part of the trunk. Well during the process I had to take out the seats which exposed the speaker wires to my bazooka tubes and the amp that runs both of them. Anyways, the install goes great and when I went to turn the car on to see if the CD Changer works and everything, my bazookas made a rumbling sound (kind of like thunder) every time I changed tracks or switch CDs. It does it for a little bit and then it's nornmal when playing a song. Basically whenever I change the function from my deck (radio, CD player, or CD changer) or switch tracks or CDs, it'll make this sound. Any idea on what is occuring or what I may have possibly done? A crimped speaker wire to the Bazookas or amp? Or does the location of the CD changer have anything to do with it? It's closer to the tubes now. Also, the intermittent rumbling sound stays at a constant volume level even if I turn the volume up or down...

probably threw off the settings on the amp(sound slike the gains got pushed way to far up...)...check those, and also make sure the +/- didn't get put back the wrong way...

good luck.

you could also be getting engine interference. make sure that your power cable and rca's are not touching, in fact the farther away the better.

fibuz - I didn't unplug anything other than the wire to the CD changer. The amp settings are pretty much hidden and I checked to see if they were moved and they weren't.

wrxplaya11 - your theory sounds like it may be a possibility. When unscrewing the strut bolts to put the strut bar in, I could've easily shuffled the power and RCA cables closer together with my foot. Guess I'll take out the rear seat and check it tomorrow. Thanks - any more feedback is welcome...

Thanks for the help so far...

Could be a grounding issue also. Where is the amp and changer grounded? Did you move any grounds when you relocated changer??

Didn't move any grounds that I know of

All I basically did audiowise was mount the CD changer by the tire jack location in the trunk and extend the CD changer wire to it.

Fixed the problem today - I separated the power and ground wires to the amp a bit further away from each other. Thanks for the help...
