Question Who has the tweeter kit in their RS?

I was wondering if anyone had the Subaru tweeter kit in their car and if it was any good. I have redone the whole stereo system in my car, but I think I still need some tweeters up high in the front and if the Subaru tweeters are not too bad, I wil just get them. Are these Suby tweeters any good or should I spend the extra dough to get some good after market ones?

I have them, came with it, not by choice. Getting replaced soon here. I have a set of the low end MB Quarts components coming in(to tide me over to next year, then I'm getting some Q's!). The tweets don't sound "bad", but it's hard to say, since the rest of the system is a little "muddy" for my taste. I don't hear the crispness that I like in music. However, they aren't terrible. But for the cost, you could just get a decent set of aftermarkets that would be even better.

They aren't very good. I have them, and I might add them into my system, just to try to balance out the ohms in the rear. I replaced them with some Vifa tweeters. These puppies sound REAL crisp and clear. They are 1" tweeters and can be picked up for around $25 a piece. Oh, they are 40Watts RMS..

Check them out here: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd..._ID=7403&DID=7

Cool

Ok, it sounds like the Subaru tweeters suck. So I guess I will be giving Crutchfield a call.

If you can buy some tweeters for $15-$20 from the poor sap the paid $100 from the dealer, get them. That's what I did , got the tweeters + mount brackets & the upgraded door speaker for $30 (BIG difference)...

But, compaired to the tweeters you can get around $20-$30 more ... the subaru tweeders do suck.

never ever buy a high end factory system from the dealer.over priced! even bose systems on corvettes don't sound as good as a built up aftermarket for probably the same price.

Thumbs up

Kapafool, I know what you mean about the upgraded stereos from car companies. I almost felt bad gutting the system from my Subaru because it had the CD player and the upgraded speakers and all that, but it still sounded like ****. The only thing I need right now are some accessory tweeters up front and I was thinking that the Subaru ones could not be all that bad because there is not much to a tweeter.

Reif! "Poor sap"???? Hey. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
Yeah, I lost 70 bucks on the deal, but the way I look at it I made 30 bucks by selling them, rather than leaving them in a box. I looked on the dealer websites and trying to find a RS without them was impossible. >shrug< I figure it's like the light bulbs.. gotta buy them but I knew they were getting pulled right away. Or the horn... or the intake...

At least is wasn't as expensive as the Infinity stuff in my Jeep... $800 for that job. But you want leather? You get Infinity.

Question

Hey Adamsrs, I don't know what kind of crack you're smoking, but not every RS comes with the tweeter kit. That's why it is an OPTION. Are you talking about some other type of tweeter in the regular speakers or what?
