Default Prodrive Halogen driving light kit help needed

Well, because Prodrive customer service won't help me I need some help with installing my light kit (p/n 44S/Q5/018). I need some sort of replacement for the 4 terminals that are supposed to go in line with the existing wiring. They're the pinkish looking parts shown here surrounded by the wire bits:

They're described as 90 degree terminals in the instructions. There is no description of their purpose other than how to install them, so I have no other specs. If you have some suggestions or recommendations for suitable replacement parts, I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance,
Neil.

they look just like female 90deg terminals. you should be able to use just standard femail terminals.
but, looking at that, i would rewire the whole thing so it runs a relay directly off the battery.

What do the backs of those lights look like? Are there wiring terminals there?
The usual way to wire a pair of driving lights on a subaru (swtiched ground) is to use a relay as suggested by PARANOID56. Use the negative inpulse going to the high beams as the ground (pin85) with 12 volts on pin 86. This would energize the relays coil. Then another 12 volt source going to pin 30 would provide the 12 volts that the driving light requires coming out of pin 87.
hmm did i do that right? Anyway this is hard to answer without seeing the back of he lights.

I'm not sure what the back of the lights looks like. I didn't take that close of a look as I basically only looked at it while I checked to see if I was missing any pieces. They're at home right now, so I'll take a look tonight when I get home. If I can, I'll borrow a camera and take some pictures.

the back of the lights i think just have two wires coming out. Prodrive just repackages Hella lights, and gives a mount, and they dont give the wiring harness that usualy comes with those lights.

Does Hella happen to sell the wiring harness separately? I've done some research and the general consensus is that these are simply the Hella FF1000 driving lights. Perhaps they sell spares? Thanks again for the help

www.rallylights.com sells the standard FF1000 wiring harness. I reused the stock harness with extensions soldered onto the factory leads with female connectors on the end (the stock wires theorectically should beable to carry the higher amperage). I have pictures, but the server I use is down.

Here is a thread from a couple weeks ago about wiring the lights to only come on with the high beams: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602366

Outstanding! Thanks mbiker! Perhaps you could email the pics? How big are they? I'd love to see how you did that.

Sure I'll email them to you. They are on my home PC though.

There really isn't much to it though. Take apart the factory wiring from the factory fog light by pulling the wires out from the white connector. Solder the longer leads onto the factory wiring and then attach female connectors. The looked like the medium sized ones, but I'm not sure. I just brought the entire assembly into the hardware store with me. Then as a subsitute for the non included pink gasket get a bowl to tank gasket like I mentioned in the other thread that I linked earlier. It provides a very tight fit, but I haven't had any problems yet after 2 weeks. I'm also running the lexan covers for the FF1000s (also available from www.rallylights.com). I basically can't turn the lights on if I'm stopped so that I don't crack the lenses.

p.s. All of us that bought the lights from Tire Rack didn't get the pink gaskets or any of the connectors.

[Mr. Burns]Excellent.[/Mr. Burns] I'll send you a PM with my email as the one in my profile is too small to get more than a couple pictures. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out how to do things like this, but it's always nice to have pictures. There's no rush, seeing as how I've waited this long already.

I didn't realize everyone's kits didn't have the gaskets or connectors. Luke told me that some people were missing brackets, others were missing connectors, others were missing instructions etc. It also seemed like some might not have been missing anything.

My kit didn't come with the connectors or the gasket either, yes I did order them from Luke. I'm a n00b when it comes to electrical stuff, but I managed to get mine to work with the help of some electrical tape and scissors. It looks ghetto as hell, but you can't see the wires and they work. The only concern I have is how long they're gonna stay working...

^^ Did you use some sort of gasket to seal the light assembly to the housing? That was my biggest concern.

Some pics of my install. There isn't much to it so I only have a couple.

The gasket I used to seal the light assembly to the housing:

The final product just before being mated together:

No, I didn't use anything to seal up the wiring. I need to get some as soon as possible. Your lamps also look wired a lot cleaner than mine as well.

Hey guys I got my gaskets and connectors in the mail the other day from Tim at prodrive. Check the original thread on how to contact them: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...=1#post7511819
