Post help 3 screws whats up with that????

hey i never really needed anything since i only did exaust and tower bar, easy stuff, oh shin's intake from noss . ok. this is it i am pissed at subaru for this. i know the car is taged as an up the snow country, rally car. but in real life subaru hasn't been the best import company. i think they are only above the koreans. but damnit this is messed up. not like they will corner the market with this "3" screws mounting thing.

MY00

its 4:00 and i decided to change my stock front speakers to some old never used pioneer 2 ways i had around the house. they are so old i don't know what size they are any more. i got them for my first mustang wich sum how never went into... so just sat in my house...

anyway... there are "3" screws to mount the stock speakers onto the spacer. and the spacer has "3" screws to mount to the door.

whats the f is up with that. how did u guys do it. my speakers look as it will fit the spacer no prob, infact i know it will, so i want to use them too since they angle up wich is nice.

help me out with this and forever greatful i will be. how to change 3 screws to 4 with out rattles....?

ect....

damn subaru......

Can't you just drill holes in the mounting plate for your new speakers? Drill the holes in the plate, mount the plate to the door, then screw the speaker into the new holes. Wouldn't that work?

BTW my speakers had three hole and four hole mounting locations, so life was good to me.

Just think of it as a performance mod by subaru. The weight savings of using 3 vs 4 screws, and the crap-tastic speakers the use are lightweight items to keep the RS quick.

There is nothing wrong with that some 6 1/2" mount with 3 holes and some with 4 holes.

Why bother with the 4th hole when the part isn't under much stress and just needs to make sure it sits in place? *shrug* 3 holes is fine, you just need newer speakers.

Most speakers have various mounting applications, so there are lots of holes to choose from. Subaru is NOT the only ones that use the 3 screws. Do not be pissed a NORMAL thing.

I think you need to get more sleep

jeff i would sleep more if your gurl would stop waking me up....JK

well if u all want to give me some new speakers that have the holes then thats fine. but if u could know what the three holes look like with the other 3 things that block and how if u try with a speaker with 4 holes how it doesn't fit. you would see where i was coming from.

but i already did it.

Hey my Polk EX250's dropped right in... three screws and all. Oh yeah, three screws plus three posts (meaning it'd fit a 6 screw panel too?!)
