Default Hello, new in town and looking for a good time....

Hey everyone, I am new to the forum, and new to the Subaru family (I am coming over from Nissan though I still own a 91 SE-R). I got a 2002 blue WRX.

Any way, here is my newbie question, that I've searched on here for days and haven't found a direct answer to a question I have.

I bought the HKS type-0 tt and the wiring harness... is there anything special I need to do for the factory/stock security system? Or is it just plug in play (and ground and turbo single)?

Thanks in advance

not sure about your questions, but for the record, you dont need a turbo timer.

Do you mean something special you need to do to arm the alarm while your car is still running? Is that's what you meant, then yeah, there's something you need to do, but I don't know what it is cause I have an aftermarket alarm system. I know scoobymods should have something on how to do it.

Every one local that I've talked to says that I should get one for the turbo to time it, to make the turbo last by allow it to settle after a good drive.

Why, is that not accurate?

According to SOA (Subaru of America), we do not need one. It's been discussed in a lot of threads. I have one just for the hell of it, but like I said, according to SOA, we don't need one.

I have CAI and BOV, that's it, I've only had it 2 weeks to put those on. Is it at least good to have if I upgrade later? I don't really care because I got a good deal, but would like to feel better about the purchase knowing at some point it'll be useful.

Do you have the HKS with harness? Do you know about any special requirements?

the stock bov is good upto 20psi.
i think the cai makes you loose a little power. i dunno, im probably wrong.
you should sell the intake, but keep the bov if you like the sound, regardless of what people say.
