I would also like to see this, if you could email pics as well I would really appreciate it! How big is the stock tweeter? I already have aftermarket components in the door and would want to put those tweeters in there.

stock tweeters are about 1.25 dia. with one side having a .25 protrusion for the wire attach points. It is about .75 deep. It is a tight fit to get the tweeter in there after the trimming. This is an estimate due to I don't have them with me.

Are these the same tweeters I posted a couple days ago? The ones that go in the triangle part in the corner of the windows? Now I'm thinking of getting these since u say they fit w/ some modifications. Please post up some pics! I wanna see. Oh... what came in the kit? the whole tweeter thing? or just a housing?

Thumbs up Just finished the Legacy tweeter kit install on my RS

That was a b!tch installing the Legacy (mirror) tweeter kit on My Impreza RS. Even with the stock tweeter it sounds so much better not pointing at your knees. Lots of trimming. Looks like it was there from the factory now.

Sorry no pic's yet.

Wow, I thought this could not be done. Could you please e-mail me some pictures when you get to it, and maybe a description of the work you did, as well as materials you purchased.

Thanks,

Paul G.

Got the Legacy Tweeter Kit # H6300LS100 from troncalli Subaru $75.

Took the tweeter out of the housing and trimmed housing to lower about 3/16 inch and trimmed the forward edge about 1/4 inch. After about a hour of trimming attached the tweeter to the inside of the housing with windsheild adhesive. To lazy to make a new bracket yet. Took the door panel off to route the wires up to the mirror. (did the window adjustment to stop the rattle when you close the door with the window half down)Then used the same adhesive to stick the housing on to the inside of the mirror. It stays in place real good and is held tight by the door seal.

Here are some grainy pic's.

The kit came with the tweeters and housing. Too bad it was not just the housing.

Sound/imaging/staging has improved. Upgraded tweeters would still help alot.

You have to get rid of the internal tweeter bracket and do lots of trimming to the housing. Compare the little pic (untrimmed) to the lower (trimmed) pic's.

Wow, that looks great!

Did you remove the stock triangle trim piece, or is the tweeter housing mounted to it?

I was just looking at Teagues Auto page and he has these listed for $43, though I don't know if these come with tweeters.

EDIT: I just put that part number on the box in a www.subaruparts.com and it comes up with a price for $24, so i don't think this comes with tweeters.

hmm, when I put your number in at Subaru parts, it comes up with $75 also, so there must be some difference.

Yes, I see the differance between mine and Teague's. On mine the tweeter grill wraps around the side about 3/8 inch more than the one from Teague's Looks like the tweeter is angled back more too.
