Anybody in the area play and would consider giving lessons?

More importantly...anybody have an old guitar they want to sell me?

here's a tip for ya, Go pick up a cheap guitar. You can get a decent used guitar for 100 at any shop. Then learn chords and finger movements by studying tabs online. One you get the basic knowledge down from playing tabs, then go and get lessons.

Probably even better off checking out an online place like daddy's music or guitar center. They usually have some killer deals on entry level acoustics and electrics. If you are thinking of getting an acoustic, try to get out and play it before you buy. The tone of different brands of guitars just varies so much.

If I was closer I would offer lessons, but you really just gotta put in a bunch of time. Get a chord book and print out some tabs of easy songs you like and try and figure em out.

If you really want an electric, I have an older SG for sale. May be a little out of your price range though, but it is just sitting around my house. Maybe been played 5-10 hours at most.

how close to patterson jersey are you? my buddy goes to william patterson university and is in his senior year as a guitarist. He gives lessons and is un-f'fin-believable.

Anyone have the Guitar Bluebook by any chance?

I can see online that they list Guild ST302 (studio 302) but I can't get any info. I've always been curious. I have one of these. It was made around '69 and I've had it since new. I have never seen another one like it. Cherry color semi-acoustic electric with double cutaway that has sharp ends. If anyone knows production numbers or anything else unique about this, I'd like to hear it.

Hi Mumbles,

I believe it's a Starfighter. I don't know much about it other than the fact I bought it in 1988 when I was 13. It's black, looks cool. Do you know much about Kramer guitars?
