Subaru Stars Fuji to produce 1,000 Spec C STIs to qualify for Group N Rally

Don't think they will be available on our shores (USA), but thought it was worth mentioning anyway.

http://www.fhi.co.jp/english/news/pr.../04_09_01e.htm

This might be as exclusive as the 22B

no offense, but that was sort of a retarded comment,
it takes 1,000 units min to be "eligible for homologation".
so the 22B was far shy from that

Didn't they only make 399 22B's, I had a feeling they didn't make number 13.

why??? the US is probably the only place in the world that view number 13 as bad luck. they did make 400 but only about 395 were sold thanks to subaru keeping a few for itself (subaru japan has one as well as subaru of england etc...)

very kool news good posting.

some of ya fellas are misunderstood, the 1000 WRx STi Spec C's that will be made are 2.0liter still. it is not the 22B(Boxer) which has a 2.2liter. Rally regulations also restrict any car over 2.0liters to participate. These 2.0liter Sti Spec C's are not normal jdm ej20's(hypercast), but the Spec C's come with ej20's(forged) pistons and the most aggressive cams stock that handle up to 8400rpm redline. JDM Verison 8(2004) STI RA Spec-C - AVCS, largest intake port (slightly machined), most aggressive cam profile, stronger valvetrain. These babies also supports the new twin scroll turbos.

A smaller displacement allows for higher reving. what i love about the ej20 is building it to rev up to 9000rpm redline.

Doesn't seem "retarded" to me. The best I can tell is the minimum homologation number varies from year to year and was as low as 200 in 98.

that a 22B could have easily won a Group N event IF it had qualified and had a competent driver ofcourse (which Im sure it would have), but the earlier poster was inferring that it could NOT.

Why do you think the US is the only place that thinks 13 is unlucky! Why do some people have to try and show that they know more than everyone else!

"I say initial as more than 400 were produced. A total of 426 were finally made. 3 cars are designated 000 and are owned by Colin McRae, Nicky Grist and David Lapworth, there is no number 13 and 24 cars were made for issue outside Japan. Of this 24, 16 came to the UK and were badged 22B Type UK and the other 8 went to the owners of Subaru concessions throughout the world. It is rumoured that a few of this final 8 went to private collectors, such as The Sultan of Brunei."

So the sultan of Brunei has at least one 22B rotting among his hundreds of Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Great.

I wish SOA would provide 2.0 STi Spec C type RA here - and all the other STi versions that we cannot get for some unknown reason.

I dunno about unknown but an obvious reason could be the quality of gas here. Add on top all the smog and crashing regulations and I can see why some makers don't release top of line models here especially ones that don't sell in great quantities.

yes. it is the act of making something homologated. which is a term used by the FIA. it means that the cars a and parts are allowable for use in international competition. only cars that arre homologated are allowed to compete in FIA events. that is one reason you will not see a WRC event in the US very soon. no homologated cars are now sold in the us. not even the us spec wrx is homologated.
