Default They've unleashed a monster!!

So, I drove a Lotus Elise today. It's good. Really really freaking good. My sister's friend ordered his last year, and he finally picked it up on Friday, and, with the electronic watchdog in, he can't rev it past 4500 in the first thousand miles or they'll void parts of the warranty (total crap, IMO, but that's what they say, so those are the rules I had to play by). Even then, it's a freaking go kart. There is no power steering, so inputs are ridiculously precise. I don't pretend to be a great driver, or a great autocrosser, but this thing gives some real confidence to doofs such as myself.

Turn in, power on, it plows a bit. Get off the throttle and then back on, and the back end rotates perfectly. Not too little, not too much. I want one

And proof I drove it

back end seems to be pretty lvl and since the front is getting body roll you should get really nice bite in.

That eletronic watchdog is cr@p. It may very well be there, but what if you have to pass a semi really quickly on the highway? Your warranty is voided because you didn't want to die?

After looking at the pic of the WRX and Elise side by side, the little subie really does have a face that only a mother (or father) could love.

The Elise is just gorgeous, but it's so tiny! I wonder if someone over 6ft tall could even fit in one? I'm 6'2" and the smallest car I've sat in is a Miata, I felt like Shaquille Oneal in a Geo Metro. My knees were up around my chin.

Driver in this pic is 6'7"... BARELY fits, and it's not comfortable at that. His knee was hitting the shifter in 1st and 2nd.

So the 6'7" guy probably wouldn't want the Elise as his daily driver. I think it's cool he could even fit in there.

I doubt many people who buy that car will use it as a daily driver anyway. I know some of us would, but we would be the people eating mac and cheese every day to afford a $43,000 car.
