Subaru Stars Question for guys with springs (not sure where to put this...)

Hey guys, just posting because I'm looking into getting some TEIN H-Techs for my STi, but I don't want to be bouncing around like a little '91 Civic hatch or anything like that.

I just want to know how you lowered guys like the ride your spring gives. I don't have a problem with it being a bit harsh, but I'm just curious about what those who've experienced it think. Thanks guys.

I have Tein S-Techs. I believe the spring rate is the same as stock. Anyway...here's what it looks like on my car.

h-tech's will be fine with your car. as long as you dont drop it lower than 1.5", it shuold tbe so bad as tein spring rates are decent.

Damn MFactor, your car looks incredible. Do you remember how much of a drop it was? I know the H-Tech's for the STi are 1" in the front and .4" in the rear. Probably just enough to look good, but I'm not sure. Yours looks perfect though, really nice job on that.

Thanks for the input, both of you, anyone else?

in these pics, i have a 30 bottle wine fridge and a 70lb copier in the back.

Quack, do you remember what the specs on that drop was? I'm pretty sure that the S-Techs for the STi are a different drop than the S-Techs for '04+ WRX's.

BTW car looks awesome.

Almost always, the bouncing cars are a result of "cutting" the springs with a torch, saw, etc. Aftermarket, progressive-rate springs don't cause a bouncing effect, unless of course they're way too low and your struts are inadequate for the springs or are blown. But this is an STi we're talking about- they don't come with Civic DX quality struts...

in your ariginal post, you asked about H-techs...

they are the same springs for the STi (SKS60-BUB00 H-tech)
the drop for the WRX is 1.8"/0.7" and the STi is 1"/0.4"

the S-tech is 2.4"/1.3" (WRX) and 1.6"/0.9" (STi) again, the same part# (SKS60-AUB00)

Ahhh alright cool, thanks guys.

I do have one more question though. My friend is a total 3s freak, he's ALL about performance, and is the strongest believer of "form follows function" I've ever met. He hates anything that is just there for looks and serves no other purpose. His theory is that with the S-Techs, the car may be so low that when I launch it, the rear tires will rub the fender wells. When I go to the track I launch pretty brutal, too. (1.72 60ft. my first time out), so I don't want to lose that if I go to the S-Techs instead of H-Tech's.

Sorry for the blabbering, thanks guys.
