Default Best PS2 game?

My copy of GT3 is b0rked. I await GT4. All I have is GTAVC and, as a 34 year old professional with not much time, have gotten as far as I have time to invest in it. Nonetheless, I play occasionally as Vigilante or just go postal. I need another game to pass the time.....any suggestions? SOmething that has a plot, but is enjoyable in an "arcade" mode as well. SOCOM? Rainbow? What say ye?

Burnout 3 and Star Wars Battlefront are two new games that are supposedly very good.

If you like platform games (puzzles, and jumping and such), then I can't speak well enough of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Definitely one of the best games of this generation.

Devil May Cry is a very stylish and rewarding game.

SOCOM 2 is mixed bag. There are a lot of problems with it. I would recommend it if you have some people who know that can play with you. Otherwise pass on it.

Kingdom Hearts is a great RPG-ish game. Wonderful story and you'll never look at Disney characters the same way again.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is still the best stealth game out there.

Word. I loved that game. Beautiful scenery, good gameplay, good story. One of the most well done games I have played in a long time.

Red Dead Revolver is pretty cool (although short) and fun.

Fatal Frame was interesting and well done also, the first game that actually scared me enough that I won't play it alone and in the dark.

Has anyone played Red Dead Revolver? I'm looking at getting that one. Worms 3D is a ton of fun when you have friends over.

Really? I was looking at it yesterday and wasn't sure if it'd be any good. What team licenses did they get? (Euro, MLS, national?)

PS2 IGN confirmed that GT4 is definitely coming in November, probably close to Thanksgiving.

Best game ever.

SOCOM 1&2 are excellent
All the Metal Gears
Hitman: Silent Assasin
Final Fantasy X was a good RPG but you have to get into it
Oh, and GTA III and VC are classics

I have really enjoyed Ratchet and Clank 2 its a very fun arcade style adventure game with lots of humor with challenge but not too hard.

I just bought Mega Man Anniversary Collection, and it's great.

Mega Man 1-8, plus two Japanese titles never released in the US.

For all those that say DDR...

Stepmania emulation > DDR for PS2. Why? I can play 1st-Extreme all at once. I'm not limited to what's on the disc for the ps2 (which usually doesn't have the songs I want to play). Downside? Unless you do TV out from your PC, you have to use your pc monitor.
