Default WTB: PDM racing style cold air intake for 2000 2.5RS

as title
looking for PDM racing or similar style CAI
(ie, using a tube to direct cold air from the fender to the stock air box. i want to retain the air box since i'm getting the K&N filter and i don't want to lose low end torque)

i checked PDM racing's website and their CAI is temporarily out of stock...and it has been like that for abt two months already.
plus 65USD is kinda expensive, so i prefer used ones.

so if anybody have or know someone else who have the PDM racing CAI or similar style CAI (ie, the one that's on sale at 2.5RS.com) and are willing to part it out plz let me know~!

THX in advance!

Kevin

I've read that PVC pipe gives of fumes that are bad for the engine or something, not sure how convinced I am that's true. I made a PDM style intake using aluminum dryer vent hose (a flex portion from the airbox to a straight portion to the fender) but it fell appart eventually. I didn't really notice a difference with the intake except in sound and I'd rather not attract the attention.

yeah i thought abt that too, but then it's better to have the tube made of one piece, and i don't think i will have the access to machines that will bant the tube for me. (i don't think home depot would have a tube bent at the right place and right angle by coincident either...lol)

besides, i think ppl say PDM racing w/ K&N drop in filter do result in better high end power and throttle response. so, i think it's would be a better intake upgrade than the DIY one~ (given that i can find a used one w/ good price...as i do think PDM racing's retail price is a bit high...after all it's just a tube plus some silicone parts, it doesn't even include a filter... )

PVC has a super high melting point (800f), so unless your motor is on fire, there won't be any problems with fumes.

To avoid brokerage fees and extra shipping charges for Canadian orders, just ship it to "The Letter Carrier" just <0.5km over the border in Point Roberts and bring it over yourself.
