Default P1544 and motor won't rev over 2K rpm?

i just uninstalled my Cobb AP and reverted to stock. immediately i got a CEL. i scanned it and it read P1544(high EGT). this is without even driving the car, just starting it. went to drive it this morning and when the motor reaches 2K rpm in neutral, it dies. if it try to release the clutch, it dies at about 1500 rpm. seems like a fuel cut off or throttle sensor issue but who knows....

has anyone experienced this or know what may be the culprit?

thanks,

Your EGT sensor ist kaput. Simply disconnecting the sensor will allow full engine RPM operation, but will cause a CEL. Installing a 2.2k ohm 1/2 watt resistor in place of the sensor will eliminate the CEL.

pbuckley, i am sure i have the correct map. i divorced the AP and viewed the Cobb welcome screen when the reflash was completed.

Jon, thanks for your advise. i will disconnect it and see what happens. i hope you're correct, that would be an easy fix.
