ECUTek and helper spring on VF22
Many thanks to Macabre for posting on how to add a helper spring on IHI turbo wastegate actuators. My boost used to spike to 19.5 psi in 3rd and 4th gears and then dance around from 15 to 18 psi on my P&P VF22. With the addition of the spring the boost will hold 19psi to about 6700 rpm and fall off until redline. However, my datalogger tells me that my wastegate duty cycle is at 0% at WOT. Before the addition of the spring, it used to read 35% at WOT. The car pulls stronger than ever and I cannot detect any detonation. Will I be running into trouble If I keep this up without a ECUTek reflash? Any info is appreciated.
