Question yellow

It looks like yellow isn't an option for a baja in 2005. Was it a color in 2004, or just 2003? Thinking about getting a baja but would prefer not to get the first year of production. However there's no point in getting one if it's not yellow.

Thanks for the replies. That's too bad. I think it's a cool color. I'll keep my eyes out for an '04 Baja Sport next year then.

Yeah that's the color i was wanting to get on my 03 Baja, but i wanted to see it in person and no one had one to look at.I saw the sonic yellow on a WRX and i did'nt like that yellow and i thought that was the same yellow that goes on the Baja.I found out later that the Baja yellow is different than sonic yellow. So on my second Baja i was going to get the yellow and found out that you can't get it on the Turbo model,i guess the yellow did'nt go over to good.Oh well i got the same color as my last one,Regatta Red Pearl. Its been months later and some friends and co workers did'nt know i got a new ride.

And now... the rest of the story...

We just picked up our '03 Yello Baja last weekend. We can never seem to find these within 200-300 miles of Detroit (they seem easy to come by in Wisconsin for some reason). Luckily my wife spotted this one the day it appeared on autotrader.com. It was only 90 miles away. Previous owner -- a woman in her 50's -- traded it to a Toyota dealership Feb 25. The wholesaler picked it up 3 days later. We drove to see it and placed our deposit March 3 and picked it up two days later. Yay! No more losing the car in the parking lot!

It's at my mechanics now for a check up. It seemed in excellent condition. Just has a small noise (kind of a flutter or rattle) that is particularly pronounced until the engine warms up. This is my first Subaru so I don't know what's normal but since I've only got 800 miles left on the warranty I thought I'd better check.

We get the same sound in our 2003 Outback with the engine sounding like it's got a piston slapping. Go to the tech section on this web site, they can explain it better. From what I have heard, this is somewhat normal, and apparently nothing to worry about. My son had a 1996 Impreza, 2.2 litre, made the same noise, and had over 120,000 miles on it. Ran strong, too!
Good luck with your Baja, and enjoy!
Keep it under 90, folks!

Yes, its probably ye olde piston slap. Didn't notice it on my 03 until it got cold, but alot of cars do it, foreign and domestic, and it shouldn't cause a problem. Usually goes away when the engine warms up real good. Mike

My mechanic said basically the same thing. He said Hondas especially have it and there are service bulletins about it. I wonder if Subaru has issued any bulletins.

I wonder if the DOHC is different because even when cold outside it sounds the same... the good old BOXER engine sound....Or it may be that the near 3K arent enough to make the slap noise (well at least loud enough).
