Default private sale...warranty still good?

Subaru's warranty is fully transferrable when you purchase your vehicle from a dealer. Or so my suby dealer told me when I bought my used 2001 RS. Now, 15 months later, I'm considering selling it. And my car is still under the 60,000 powertrain warranty coverage. If I sell the car privately, can I transfer this warranty coverage on to the new owner? Do I have to take it in for a some sort of special inspection first?

The standard Subaru warranties apply to any vehicle regardless of how many hands it goes through (well, as long as one of the hands doesn't use it for a rally shell ).

The Subaru extended warranty can be transferred to a new owner for a nominal fee (maybe $50?). So, whichever type of warranty you have, you should be OK.
