Default why is the baja 3600+ pounds?

why is it so much more heavier than a legacy or even a forester?

Another possible factor is the additional reinforcements needed to convert a unit-body wagon/sedan body-in-white into a pickup chassis...

I think the bed is a composite/sheet metal unit, but I am not sure it structural to the chassis' integrity... so, I bet there is some extra sheet metal poundage stiffening up the rear suspension area...

i think this 3600 pounds is the main culprit in why the baja is slower than a wrx. also, does anyone know the gear ratios? it would be nice to have the same ratios as the wrx, but i dont think they would do that on a "truck". i am probably going to trade in my wrx for the baja turbo 5-speed soon.

Default Gear ratios

Here are the gear ratios to the 04 Subaru Baja Turbo, and I think they are pretty close to the WRX....

1st. 3.454:1
2nd. 2.062:1
3rd. 1.448:1
4th. 1.088:1
5th. 0.780:1
final. 3.90:1
Reverse. 3.333:1
