Post I'm new here...

First off, I have to admit I don't have a Subaru, but I am an Impreza nut. Ask any guy friend I know (girls seem to glaze over when I start talking about "the car you can get in Japan for $23k that will kill a $70k Porsche").

Second, I have to admit, I didn't know what a WRX was until Gran Turismo.

Third, I'm not sure if I want to turn into someone whose life revolves around their car.

Fourth: but I am damn jealous of Impreza owners. And Legacy GT owners too. Lucky bastards!

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself. Would love to attend one of your meetings sometime. All those Imprezas in one place - damn. Plus I have never heard an RS with an aftermarket exhaust. I gotta hear that Scoobysport sometime...

Argh, maybe it's too late, my life revolves around cars already. Only $500 a month will net me a brand-new RS - the temptation! Ramen and pretzels every night!

Talking

Hey folks, I just wanted to say the same thing. I just moved back to the Bay Area yesterday from San Diego and am happy to be home!

I just got back from test driving a 2000 2.5 RS. So much fun! We drove the hell out of that car too...put about 25 miles on it. What a blast. I will be getting one in about a week too...

So I wanted to say hello to all the owners around here...and if you see a new Silverthorn 2.5 RS that is me!

See you around....

D. Neil Crawford

STi Sev - yeah that's me, the Subaru fan who also secretly covets a TVR Chimaera (sorry, I'll try to get counseling). Thanks for the hospitality! Much appreciated.

dcrawford - where are you taking the order from? Carlsen? They let me (a scrubby-looking 24-year old) take out a 00 RS coupe on my own for a test-drive, I had it for nearly an hour. Needless to say the best time behind a wheel I've had in a long time. Would you mind if I asked what kind of loan you are using, or are you buying outright? What price?

Hmm... I haven't seen an RS on the road in a good 2 weeks.

Well I was looking at a White 2000 RS with the stereo upgrade, floor mats, security system, and armrest so it came out to just under 21,000 MSRP...which is what www.edmunds.com said it would be.

As far as the loan goes...it is all about the bank of Crawford...Grandfather Crawford that is...can't beat that interest rate!

I test drove a white one at Diablo Subaru in Walnut Creek, and the salesman (Moe..a great guy) told me he would get me the car I wanted with the options I wanted. He didn't even try to sell me the white one...I want silver or blue. I still want to check out another dealership and see what sort of price they can get me (Moe and I didn't talk $$$ at all...which was nice, we just talked cars). But I think it would be a good idea to have another option JUST in case. Hell, I was so damn excited I almost took the white one! Gotta be careful here....

HOPEFULLY I will be in my Scooby by Monday! WOO HOO! DAMN but that car was FUN.

I want to say hello to all the Suby owners in the bay area....

I'm a newbee here to the bulliten board...but I have been monitoring for the past month.

I just purchased a MY00 RS (Blue RidgeP)and have had for almost 1 month (friday will be one month). This car is cool (as most of you know ;-) and it's great having a car that is not very common (i.e. honda). I get looks from everyone where ever I go. The funny thing is I haven't seen another RS on the road...period. Sure I have seen plenty of Outbacks....but not RS's. I know you are out there....but I haven't seen you.

My question is....will there be a BayArea meet of Impreza Owners some time soon? If so count me in!

Again, Hello to all.
