Default Axxis Deluxe + Pads for Front of 2003+ WRX

We just received our first shipment of Axxis Deluxe Plus pads in the D929 pad shape which fits the front of the 2003+ WRX among others. Here is the full list of other the other Subarus that take this pad:

2003-2004 Baja - ALL
2003-2004 Forester - ALL
2002-2004 Impreza 2.5RS - ALL
2002-2004 Impreza Outback - ALL
2002-2004 Impreza Wagon - ALL
2003-2004 Impreza WRX - ALL
2002-2004 Legacy Sedan except L and L-S models made until 04/2002
2002-2004 Legacy Wagon with rear disc except L, L-S made until 04/2002
2002-2004 Outback - ALL

Price is $57.95

Yeah, this is the new pad shape for the front of pretty much all Subarus. I don't have any data on the 2005 Legacy's but if I had to guess, I would guess that they likely take the same pad.

Unfortunately, we don't have any news on any of the other Axxis pads for the front or rear of these applications, but I will be sure to post up when they do arrive.

You can order these on our website, and if you can't find your particular model as listed above, you can always choose the 2004 Impreza WRX and make sure you're ordering StopTech part number 63-213-0929 and it should cost $57.95.

Email me if you have any questions at Tim at StopTech.com.

Thanks,
Tim Kelsch

Tim,
I'm enjoying the Stage 1 kit on my '02 WRX.
The Ultimates do dust a bit more than stock, but I wouldn't say it's unbearable.
I still haven't done the full "burn in" brake procedure, because I haven't found a safe place to do it.

SUPAREX, I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the Stage One. You should really notice a difference when you are finally able to do the full bed in process due to the higher coefficient of friction that will be generated at the friction interface.

What is the difference in stopping power between the Ultimates and Deluxes? I was looking for Ultimates for my 04 wrx, but apparently I am SOL for now. What would I be looking at as a package for lines, F/R pads and 3 pints Motul 600?

The Ultimates have a noticeably higher coefficient of friction throughout its range of operating temps, but the Deluxe Plus dusts much less than the Ultimate.

If you're looking at a pad that has performance more in the range of the Ultimate, I would recommend the StopTech Street Performance compound which we have for the front and rear of the 2004 WRX. The Stage One kit that includes these pads has StopTech part number 86-836-02510 and price of $329. That includes front and rear pads, front and rear SS lines, and three half liter bottles of Motul RBF600. You can order that on our website or by calling us at 310-325-4799.

Will these pads work on an 02 WRX? Noticed that you only posted 2003+ WRX's. Is this the price shipped for just the front brake pads?

Unless your WRX was built in 2001, your front or rear calipers may be newer parts that require the newer pads. To figure out which pads your car has, check here: http://www.stoptech.com/faq/data/faq29.htm

Nope, brake pads are always sold separately for the front and rear. These are for the front only. Also, a set of brake pads includes all the pads you need for either the front or rear (usually four pads).

How do your Stop Tech Street Performance (Black) pads compare to Axxis Ultimates as far as temp range, stoping power, and dust?

They are actually very similar in almost every regard. They have a little less MOT, very similar level coefficient of friction with the exception of a little better friction when they're dead cold, and don't dust quite as much as the Ultimates (although they're still a pretty dusty pad). The fit and finish isn't on the same level as the Ultimate, but as long as if fits and works well, that's alright by us.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Tim Kelsch
