Default How many reccomend the SPT 3" cat back?

Anyone taken the SPT 3" cat back and converted to a TBE and had good results? Just wondering if it will be too loud with a new DP. Also does anyone know if the SPT necks down to 2.5" to connect to the cat? The 30% off sale in the vendor ads is just too cheap to over look

Thumbs up

The SPT exhaust system is great. I have had it on the car for about 2 months know. Quality is great sound it great, but to me is a tad to quite. I just installed a Individa 3 inch down pipe and has now make the sound and performance just perfect for me. The SPT looks to have a 2.75 inch at the begining of the pipe where it connects to the 2nd cat. But its not a huge bottle neck like some other models of exhaust.

As you can see here there is huge improvement from the stock midpipe to the new SPT midpipe. :Left pipe is the SPT and right is the stock midpipe:

AndyM did you have any problems with mating the 3"DP and the SPT? I have heard that it does not mate up fine due to the SPT being built to compensate for the stock DP donut?

Yes I did. My Invidia downpipe has a flat flange and the midpipe on the SPT midpipe has a doughnut-gasket flange. It would bolt up just fine, the problem was that it wouldnt seal properly. The exhaust would seap fast the seal in the SPT midpipe. I had to take it to a exhaust shop and cut off the douhnut-gasket flange and weld on a flat 3'' flange. It cost me 40 for the whole deal. After that it was all good. I since have sold my SPT exhaust and bought a Invidia G200 catback.

I just got done installing this cat back with a helix DP and I had issues withthe dp mateing like above. I used JB weld at the Top of it to "fill" the Gap This will be a temp. Fix until I can weld on a new Flange..
