Default baja turbo HP under-rated?

is this a myth or are there any real world dyno data out there? i test drove an auto baja turbo (they had no 5-speeds in stock) and the acceleration seemed pretty impressive being that i had the sales person sitting in the passanger seat. i can't wait to see what the 5-speed feels like.

I am hoping to get my baja on a dyno sometime soon, but that will all depend on the funds issue.

My butt tells me there is more than 210HP in there... nothing scientific here...

I had an Explorer Sport with 210HP/240lbFt and the Baja is easily 3-3.5+ seconds faster to 60mph... now, the Explorer Sport does weigh about 500-600lbs (3600lbs vs. 4100lbs) more, but the Baja Turbo plain scoots...

I am very curious to see how the dyno results shake out... my instinct tells me there is probably 225-230hp at the crank... and maybe 245-250lb/ft...

I have a Forester XT, and they have been dyno proven to be underrated. Actual dyno test put it at 230-245hp and 255-265 lb/ft depending on the dyno and ambient conditions. If I had my guess, the Baja is probably the same.

Ive seen data on stock baja's dynoing 170-175 awhp, which is more than the 227hp rated WRX, 230-240hp is a more realistic number.
