Why the salvage title for such little damage?

if you have good insurance regardless of damage you can tell them you want the same car instead of a fixed one and they have to take it and sell it to dealers with salvage title thru auctions.

Do you mind telling me what qualifications you have to give out our expert opinion? Are you an adjuster, have you worked for the insurance company or a bodyshop?

Kieth is claiming you sent him broken, dodgy bits and he's out over $5k on junk you sold him that cannot be used. He's asked that you no longer receive privledges to participate on this board. The allocations are quite serious.

Is this true?

Do you care to address this subject? Or should we move this entire thread to the scammers thread? and forewarn others?

Please reply to Keith here in this thread with an explanation

Let's clear the air.

I sold him a working motor and they fcked it if you must know. I gave him some options but he wasn't happy with them.

I have sold a bunch of those drivetrains in the past and I never had problems with anyone.

Greg
Greg,
How exactly are you sure that we fcked it?
Lets go through this step by step and make assumptions on who screwed who here.
1. I paid you in 3 days, fully for everything. I was told that it would ship in approx 2 weeks as you had to put everything together. It shipped 3 months later after numerous excuses. Strike 1.
2. When we got the package and went through it ( I was there, remember that), it was incomplete. Missing parts such as rear brakes, drive shaft, tranny x-member etc. These were things that were supposed to be included. Also, the tranny had a broken throw out bearing, the steering column was completely bent. That along with the other numerous things that were missing/broken… strike 2.
3. We start the engine (again, Iw as there, saw it go in) and oil spurts out of the intake manifold. NEVER was that part taken off by the shop. This is something that you took out. Let me restate that, that happened by YOUR HAND. No one took it off After we took the intake manifold off, we saw that a bolt was misplaced causing the oil to spurt out. Again, the shop did NOT take off the intake manifold and move that, it must have happened after you took the engine apart.
4. So, now I have a broken engine, numerous broken/missing parts and your alternative is that I buy another engine off of you? Are you serious?

Lets see, what do I have to gain from this situation? I have no car, I’m out 5k +, and now I have to buy another engine. You got paid in full, you got to use your money, I don’t get to use my car. How am I screwing you over? Basically for the price that we agreed on, I got a tranny, ecu, wiring harness and front brakes (with no pads). The rear diff was taken apart and put back together incorrectly. The rear subframe was bent. I didn’t get any rear bakes at all. No clutch line, drive shaft, pedal box, no bolts (for the engine to bolt to tranny) or for the rear end, no egt sensors for up pipe, no o2 sensors,, no bov, y pipe or IC…I could keep on typing but it is a waste of time. My point is made.
Your excuse that the “shop is screwing me over” is crap considering the people at the shop have known me for years. I was there when they unpacked it, so your idea of them taking my parts isn’t possible. Them “switching the engine” is really far fetched as well.
You keep on saying that you sold them in the past. That is fine, but this one got screwed up. If it was a bad situation, own up to it and just try to rectify the situation, don’t start conspiracy theories that maybe my “shop took my parts.” All I want is a running car, I’m happy to just settle for a new long block. I haven’t had a car now for about 2 months and I’m really annoyed. I’m not asking you for all my money back, I just want a running car. Provide me with a new long block and I’ll over look the fact that I had to wait on everything, get broken parts/missing parts etc. I just want a running car…that is what I paid for.

Yes it took me a while to put everything together but also remember that you have received it over 4 months ago.

For all I know you could have been running to at 25psi.

I don't think I am a guilty party here but since I have felt bad for you I have offered you an replacement engine at my cost or free labor to fix the engine if you provide the parts.

Also when you say that you did not receive some parts and I know that the shipping delay was caused by me sourcing the parts it could only mean that one of us is lying. I am pretty sure about myself.

Greg

BTW. There are no oil lines in the intake manifold. Motor was compression tested before it was shipped.

I know there isn't any oil lines in the intake manifold, directly under it is where the oil was coming from. I already spoke to you about this.

as for waiting for 4 months, I have pictures that are date stamped showing when this was started...as well as about 8 other people willing to support me in that.

A big question here Greg, What do I have to gain from this? tell me what I have to gain from this situation?
Me waiting 4 months since I have the parts is DIRECTLY related to you taking 3 months to ship the thing man. If it was shipped on time, I could have had it in the shop on time. You stating "I'll ship it out monday" and not shipping it at all left the shop to not schedule me any longer. Other cars came in, mine had to wait. That and getting other parts as well took a while.

I have nothing to gain from this situation man, everyone knows me here, I have no reason to lie. I was all excited about this swap. I had to wait 3 months to get it, I never got parts I was supposed to get, and the stuff I got was sub par.
Hows that money that I sent you?

don't ignore the fact that the rear diff u sent was put together incorrectly. Address that.
The engine was put together incorrectly as well. You said that you replaced the head gasket, so maybe when you put it together you screwed up? It is possible man. That oil was spurting out of the passanger side cyl (closest to the fire wall).

I HAve nothing to gain from lying here man. I still don't have a car. stop trying run around in circles and address the problem.

What the hell do you think I would have done with the parts you didn't ship? Sell them? Who the hell is going to buy that stuff? You have got to be kidding me here.

You offered me a replacement engine at your cost. So that means, I send you more money right? And possibly get scammed again? Would you do that?
No. No one in their right mind would.

As for your argument of me running 25psi, I have recipts for all the parts I bought from the subaru Dealership, (you know, the ones you didn't send). Those have dates on them, would you like a copy of that? It proves when my engine was installed and you can cross reference that with the emails I sent you. Take a look at the dates..that should easily put your "keith ran 25psi" arugment to rest.
Would you like to try another idea? Maybe aliens came down and broke my engine!?

So far you tried:
"maybe the shop took the parts I sent you"
Nope, I was there when it was unpacked. they were missing/broken

"Maybe the shop swaped the engines out"
Nope, I highly doubt it considering I have known these guys for about 5 years, OH and I unpacked the engine with them.

"maybe you ran 25psi and blew up the engine"
Nope, I have dated recipts from a dealership with parts that I needed to get this engine up and running.

next theory?

Here's the short version of what happened:

Motor arrived and was shipped to my house where it sat in its crate for a while until Keith was able to come down. We pulled out the original rear subframe, motor, trans, etc and put in all the new stuff. Zephyr did all the wiring. We started the car and it sounded like crap. Did a compression test and it also looked like crap. The car never left my driveway or ran for more than 2 minutes tops. Now we need another motor.

That's more or less how it happened except you forgot the part where I nearly put my head through the windshield when the engine started making some god awful noises that a "good" engine shouldn't be making.

All in all, Greg is an A$$hole and owes Keith a new engine or a large chunk of his money back. He sold him what should have been a WRX In A Box but it was far from that.

Do I need now to have my friends post negative comments about you here to tip the scale on my side?

You already have threatened me with lawyers and now by calling me a$$hole I am sure will help this situation.

You cant dump %100 blame on me. I have been doing this for a long time and I am sure about my work. Meet me half way and I will help you. I am not just shipping a free engine.

Notice that I didn't call you an ******* dude. Also, those are the people who were installing my engine...not just friends.
Besides that, what could your friends say? I paid you up front like you asked.
My check cleared. My engine doesn't run.

what is 1/2 way to you? Me buying another engine off of you cost you nothing at all, so how is that 1/2 way?
I said, I'm very willing to be work with you on this one. I'm not sending more money though man, I don't think anyone would....you wouldn't.
Give me a real alternative, you know what, post it here also.
Thanks,
keith

Ps, my lawyer “threat” isn't a treat, it is a fact.
I’m just working out the logistics of it now as I feel as though I’m owed something here. I’d prefer not to go though that, but if I have to, I will.

I am one of the friends in question. I have done 2 motor swaps on my own car. one being a usdm ej20 and lately a ver7 sti engine. I am not trying to "rip off" Keith. I have nothing to gain, as I am NOT getting paid in any way shape or form. The only thing that I had to lose was all the time and effort that I put into installing a BUM MOTOR. BTW how hard of a hit did the donor WRX take? I ask because the "good" stearing rack that you included had the driver side link SHEARED OFF.

My 2cents

I hadn't heard about this, but I just want to add that Zephyr and Frank are extremely knowledgable when it comes to engine swaps.

Good luck, Keith and hopefully this can be settled without getting nastier than it already is.

Finally some action in the Forester forum! It's sad circumstances though. I learned three years ago not to buy anyone from the i-club (nabisco) when I got scammed out of a camera. To many shady charactors round here.
