Best bet would be to check the owner's manual. It will tell you directly in there.

Numbers are not from me:

Web site

1995 Subaru Impreza L 1.8L:

4.2 qt's (About 4.5 in my car)

3.7 qt's (AWD) 2.7 qt's (FWD)

8.4 qt's (AWD & FWD)

.8 qt

1.3 qt's

13.2 gal

6.2 qt's 3.1qt's to 3.1qt's water 50/50
I asume you that you are changing the oil in the crankcase. With an old engine you might have to put more. start with a bit more than 4 quarts check your volume and then start your engine adjust it with the dipper. Dont forget to put your drain plug back, i had a bad experience.....
