YES!!! It was me and my 01 RS with Magnaflow tailend.. I had not seen many Imprezas in Columbus area(only 1 black RS with gold rims),so I was very excited!!

By the way, are you planning to modify your WRX wagon? I have some magazines bought in Japan which contain tons of great pictures and infos. If you are interested in, let me know.
One more thing, do you know good shops in Columbus area? I am going to install coilovers, and clear tail lights.Or,if you know some handy people available Sundays to help me?

Thanks. I hope we will meet again soon!!

Rob

Oh, also on friday i passed a silver WRX sedan on Trabue, it was also around 6pm.

Finally!!! A match to a sighting!!!!

I've been in Columbus for only 2 and a half years, and I've been working for most of that time also, but......

I've got some leads on some guys who can wrench and some shops that do also.

I'm sure you've seen Passen Motorsports....they've got an install place over on the eastside....but thats the only "commercial"place I know of. Had a friend who once worked there...he's got some leads as well.

The guys over at Truechoice are extremely helpful. I talked with steve and I went to an autocross a couple years back. He's got some good stuff also. The back of Truechoice's shop is all fully outfitted to do major suspension work...and shock rebuilding also.

Anyways, my wife and I are always around OSu hospitals and that NW corner of town since we live out there. Heck, we're at Seafood Japan on Old Henderson at least 2-3 times a week for sushi! We're moving back to California in a few months, but its pretty rare to even see a Scooby on the highways out there.

If need a hand wrenching, I'll be around. I managed to bring a small collection of tools out here with me for those "just in case" situations.

Thank you for the helpful info, narcotix. You are 2~3 times a week Sushi eater!!! UGHHH......
just kidding! I have been sushi chef for 5 years, and just start working in Columbus area as a sushi chef. That's why I only have Sundays off....
I think I need your help, narcotix. I haven't had my coilovers yet, but as soon as I get them, please help me! I'd like to pay for labor OR trade with Sushi? (hahaha)

It's so nice to know there are imprezas around here. Redbrighton 96,I will see you around, too(you cannot miss my car, because it's sooooo loud!)

Question Do we need a garage day?

Sounds like maybe we need a local garage day. I just got the
springs relplaced on my garage, so perhaps I could host sometime
between rallys. I'm a few streets south of worthington
up near morse/high/sinclair/161

I do just about anything for mechanical work, but I don't
know much about paint and bodywork, well except for
making composite panels.

I keep seeing the "other" blaze car around town, and a blue
wagon as well. I see a guy in an SVX on morse all the
time as well.

Let me know if theres interest. I know there are a few other
folks around I've Pm'ed with as well.

Default garage daysounds great!!

Iceweazel, narcotix. I am so happy to know there are impreza freaks like you guys(hehehe) here in Columbus.Garage day sounds great to me! Anytime on Sundays,I will be there with lots of beers or possibly Sushi?
Bongo, I have not heard about Shoku restaurant.Where I am working has DJ on every Fridays, and Jazz band every Saturdays, but I don't recomend Sushi there. It's OK quality. Once I tried Basho on sawmill Rd(very close to my apartment),and it was good. If you are interested in, try there. Once again,I am so glad to know you guys!!

P.S. I saw Impreza RS year? WRC blue color(I did not know Subaru released that color in US, I was so jealous) on I-270 at 10.00am today.

A garage day would be sweet. I'm thinking about getting some springs for mine and dropping it sometime in the near future. Have to see how the money works out, but i would still love to come and watch or help work on some other scoobies and meet some of you guys from around the city i dont' know.

Oh and i saw that blue WRX wagon again today, turning left onto trabue off of wilson, guy looked right at me so i know he saw me. Anyone here?

If you've signed up in the "members" link on the top of
I-club you have a listing. Everyone ought to check.

"Scott Chapman Columbus 2002 Impreza WRX Sport Wagon WR Blue Pearl " has a listing. dunno if thats the one we've seen.

I know VICE posts on some of the forums, as does LIFINO.
Perhaps when we think of a date, we can PM these
guys, see whats up?

I have a large deck behind the house so we could
throw a nice little cookout/etc thing as well.

I'm a German car guy at heart and my garage will show that,
but I'm all for it. I'm waiting on some wheels and tires
to show before I do my brake upgrades. Just added my
GFB blow-off valve. Nice little unit.

Hey, iceweazel, I didn't know you can speak Japanese! Of course I understand it. I am 100% Japanese. If you can read Japanese, I have some Impreza magazines published in Japan.I am gonna bring them when we have garage day. Let's keep in touch!

Default Black 2.5RS Coupe Sighting!

Dang...now that I got myself a Scooby, its like I notice them even more now!

Getting my haricut today and I see a beautiful black 2.5 RS with the "SUBARU" letters in white on the windshield tint strip. I make small talk, but the guy seems to be in a rush.

This time around, it was on Bethel, right across the street from Microcenter.

Who dat?

Hey Hey
I'm in for a get together! Garage day sounds good to me. I met a guy up at Tuttle Mall with a blaze yellow WRX. I thought it might be iceweazel, but this guy was from Huntington, WV. He had numerous mods already, so I was checking the car. Anyway, I rent a place on Zollinger (in UA), with a POOL, so anytime you want to meet up, count me in.

Default Sounds like a plan is hatching...

Well..it sounds like another Central Ohio type of meet!!! Or rather, "garage day"!!

I'd love to host something like that, but if you like the idea of working on hot blacktop in July at an apartment complex where everyone can see what the heck is going on, my place just ain't right.

I'm maybe in for mid July sometime or early August. Vice's pool sounds mighty tempting at the moment. I've got an electric impact wrench with me if anyone needs some bolts busted loose.
And some personal home videos of the 1997 Baja 600 too if you're into that. Got some other vids of some WRC championships if you guys wanna see that too. But the pool and maybe some brats and brewskis always sounds like a bunch of fun.

Better than work, anywho.

So any volunteers?

[FOGHORNLEGHORN]Crazy, man. I say, C-razy![/FOGHORNLEGHORN]

So I got this tingling feeling down my spine and a super urge for Sushi... Sure enough a Subie driving, Sushi eating, I-cluber had mentioned my name...

Nukeyfish, do you work at Haiku? It's got to be you. I stopped in last week to pick up some sushi and saw an RS sitting in the lot, I parked by the front window hoping to be seen, no luck... I'm in there like every other week, about the only thing I get is sushi though. Personaly I like it there, but perhaps I should reconsider if you don't think it's all that...

My oppinion of Shoku = Very low, too many bad experiences there, never much liked the sushi.

I'm all for a garage day, I just need to know well in advance to get it into my schedule... It's got to be soon for me though. I'm moving up to Cleveland mid August. I'll probably have to miss the Akron Get together, I'd like to be at this one... Otherwise I'll see ya'll around.

Yes, it was my car. No, I did not mean the restaurant is bad. I fix myself sushi all the time(for free ). The place is Asian restaurant, not traditional Japanese style one. If you guys wanna try REAL Japanese food, wrong place. That's what I meant. Please don't misunderstand the point. I am still paying for my car.I cannot lose my job
When you come to eat Sushi next time, please say hi to me.I am the youngest looking Japanese in Sushi bar. I wanna check out your RS,too!!

Subies, subies everywhere.....and I'm lovin' it! Hey guys, if you ever see a white Outback Sport cruising around give me a honk. I'll be moving to Worthington in two weeks so you'll see me all over the north side.

Mine is the white OBS with the black rear spoiler and black front bra, and Enkei wheels.

See ya!

Kalins, I always check when I see the Outback on the road, never is you though... How's your hand doing? Better I hope...

I saw a Sedona Red WRX on OSU campus today at 12:10. Parked just next to the OVAL... I stopped and admired it for a few minutes. I'm amazed how good looking it is in red. I've seen it all the other colors and it looks nice enough, but took my breath away in the red...

I'm still voting for sooner than later, just cause I'm moving up to the lake in a month... But hey, what ever the majority says.

I was thinking today maybe getting some people together to go over to the Wexner Center on a Wed. They are having B Movie showings every Wed through July and Aug... Just a though, what'd'ya thing?

Cool

Hey for the cost of pizza/beer|soda/Sushi I'll help out
folks here install about anything IF you

a) don't need to leave it with me overnight
b) know what it is you're getting into.
c) don't mind getting a little dirty yourself.
Figure you might as well learn something

I'm still happy to host garage day. Need to get
a buddies POS he dumped on me towed though.
Free this weekend, not the 14th, not the 28th (maine
forest PR)

If you have a small job, say wheels or brakes,
or whatever, just drop me a PM or email and we can work something out. Larger stuff lets talk more about.
Exhausts for car over 1 month old, turbos, etc.

Hey narcotix mentioned install places, I just checked out
www.ForceFedIndustries.com's spot over near the airport
for some DSM/Honda friend of mine. Typical industrial
spot (seen lots of these in Europe/Asia) where they
don't have any bays but use a space and cut it off into
a "garage area" and a tiny sales counter. No lifts.

IW sez:not sure about these guys. The 2 guys they
grabbed out of the back to talk to me when I poped
in seemed to be semi-knowledgeable wrenches,
more in the "bolt on" and not "conversion" sense.
I would recommend them for bolt ons but no
more. They had a dsm with its ass-end up in the air
doing some suspension work. VERY little
safety precautions and the front end was open
to the world. (no bumpers,etc)
I was looking to see if they might have a little SAMCO
style hose to help me hook up a larger IC on my bro's S2,
but they "only use all aluminum piping, not hose"
and when I asked how they connect the pipe to
everything they said "regular hose". I just smacked
my head, fired up the rex and left. Not a place I'd
do race prep for sure.
(thats how I measure a place)

so whos got the red 2.5 wagon with the NY plates I keep
seeing around town? this person tried to keep up with
me a few times. (sorry I was in a hurry that once)

I'm designing a set of brackets to mount up Wilwood
superlight calipers for Imprezzas. Anyone interested?

I have the new Subaru parts CDROMs. its locked and
licensed to a buddy at a dealership but I've yet to
crack it.

where do all the imports in town go on Saturday night? We should all get together some weekend and cruise around at night.

I've heard west broad is a pretty good place to go also I was down there on Saturday night last week and saw a few decent cars.

If there's a mid day/evening garage day this weekend I'd try to stop in. My Fiance limits my time at these sorts of things, but I think I could work in an hour or two... I don't have any work to do on my car, but I'm happy to lend a hand where I can, despite little wrenching experience... I figure the best place to start is on the car you drive everyday, and I'm past ripe for starting.

Just name the day, rough time, and place.

More to the topic of this thread, Sightings, today was an absolute watershed! First I was walking across campus when I saw the WRX (plates=stres) by the oval. Then on twelth I was walking past the hospitals after work and was passed by a Blue Coupe RS w/Gold rims and "SUBARU - RS" on the side windows, plates read NUFF(I think)... Then I was at 17 & High and saw another blue RS no Gold... I walked up to my car on Waldek and down 18th where I passed that last RS, I got out and talked with the guy for about 20 min. (Yeah I'm that kinda freak about these cars, but he was cool with it) Ryan was his name, not on the club, but I'm sure he'll stop in. I mentioned that this Cols. GTG was coming up, and also mentioned the Akron thing. He acted like he was excited about it... Dudes looking to put on some suspension and a few go fast parts over the next year or two, but so far he's stock... Then driving up Kinear on the way home I saw a Yellow WRX that parks over in Building D from time to time, spoke w/him on I-club...

Later
