Default Official Nokian Tire Group Buy Thread!!

Ok folks here it is. For a few weeks now I've been working on getting us a group rate on Nokian winter tires. For those of you that don't know, Nokian is one of the most highly regarded manufacturers of winter tires world-wide, but their base is mainly in Scandanavia, Europe and Russia. They are hard to attain in the states and they tend to be a bit on the expensive side. But you get what you pay for.

I've been able to get in touch with Ryan at the Tirefactory, the largest Nokian supplier in the US and he's worked out a great deal for us. Tirefactory is NOT allowed to post Nokian prices on the internet or send them via email, so please call. As of right now, TireFactory has a request in to Nick for becoming an official NASIOC vendor. Their status is pending his response but they are registered here on NASIOC and may be able to answer your questions and concerns. But again, please don't ask them to break Nokian's policy about asking for prices online.

So without further rambling here is the deal:

Ryan from TireFactory: "I just e-mailed Nick and bcc'd you on it so you would have a copy. What we came up with here is to offer all NASIOC memebers, now through Oct 31, $10 off per Nokian tire/$40 off per Nokian set with FREE SHIPPING and NO sales tax outside of MI. Nokian does not allow pricing over the internet or on e-mails so I can not provide you with pricing on the sizes you mentioned to post on the site. But we are open to extending the discount on all Nokian Models including the studdable Hakka 2 and the studless Hakka Q in addition to the WR and RSi...... my Sales Team here is on-board and will be able and ready to offer the discount as well. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to call. Thanks again and we are looking extremely forward to this partnership and providing your group with the World's best Winter Tires!"

Tire Factory, Inc
800-576-1009
www.tirefactory.net

So to summarize the deal:

We get $40 off a set plus free shipping (a $60 value on FedEx, should get it in 3 days from order). All the tires/sizes are in stock and ready to ship. This is the best offer they could pull off, and is a great deal for these tires. I'll give a brief explanation of each tire in the following post.

Thanks!
Ron

Default Nokian Tire descriptions

Nokian All Weather WR - The world's only All-Weather Tire to carry a Severe Service Symbol exceeding government snow regulations. I've seen this tire in action in snow (and rally). Quite impressive and a great all around tire (in dry too!).

Hakkapeliitta RSi (Rain, Snow, and Ice) - A dedicated winter tire with superb slush/wet traction. A really aggressive tread and sipe pattern that has a shark tooth like effect. They call it a "brake booster" design.

Hakka Q - #1 Studless Winter Tire. This was Nokian's best studless snow tire until the RSi and probably your least expensive option.

Hakka 2 - #1 Studdable Winter Tire for those of you further up north.

Let me know if you have further questions!

-Ron

Yo, little more info. Ryan can't post prices, but you can.

Yeah, the rules state they can't advertise prices, but there is nothing wrong with someone saying how much they paid for something.

Okey dokey...for my stock 16 inchers (2004 WRX Wagon, 205/55/16):

$133.80 per tire for the WRs (shipped to my door!)

Now do me a flavor....where's a good place to mount and balance in the Ashburn/Sterling/Leesburg area? Doesn't someone have lifetime alignment too? Thanks guys and Ryan is definitely cool.

yeah I hear ya. But you said you've got that long road trip. Think of it as peace of mind

Oh wait.. what am I doing??? Damnit.. Nokian needs to pay me for this or something

Ron

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I really have my hopes set on the RSi tires.. but I just don't think I can afford those. In fact.. I may just have to opt for the Hakka Q's. Regardless they're still gonna be exceptional snow tires, but I just wanted the best damnit. I hate being poor

FWIW, Ryan is sending me Nokian's most recent product information guide, so those of you near my area will be able to flip through it at the Rockville or Mt. Airy meets. I'm gonna wait to get that before I make my final decision.

No one really has a scanner anymore do they? I guess the only people that have them now are graphic artists and people with all-in-ones.

Scan pretty please.

Question for TireFactory:

I didn't see any 17" sizes for the Hakka Q. Are they just no available in that size at all?

Thanks!

I'm waiting for my next paycheck before I decide. If the overtime hours bump this one up a bit I'll be getting some new tires. Otherwise I might have to wait for the next next paycheck and see if that one has the mondo overtime hours on it.

Edit for the unknown taxman factor.
